Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid EV charger: which one fits best?
The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid exists in two generations with different charging behaviour. That difference decides which charger suits you. The older generation, built from 2017 to 2023, charges at home at up to 7.2 kW. The newer generation from 2024 received a larger battery and an 11 kW charger. The two Panamera 4 E-Hybrid generations at a glance
The two generations differ mainly in battery size, charging power and electric range. Both are plug-in hybrids, so they charge through a wallbox or a socket, never at a DC fast charger.

Which EV charger suits the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid?
An 11 kW charger is the sensible choice for both generations, but for different reasons. The newer generation uses all 11 kW, provided you have a three-phase connection. Three-phase means the charger spreads its power over the three phases of your home supply. The older generation has a much smaller battery, so even a modest charger fills it overnight. There, an 11 kW unit is about being ready for your next car, not about speed. A 22 kW charger adds nothing either way, because the on-board charger in the car sets the ceiling.
Look for a built-in MID meter as well. That is a kWh meter certified to the EU Measuring Instruments Directive, built into the charger itself. Because it measures at the charging point, it records your charging separately from the rest of your household. You then know exactly what a home charge costs you. How long does the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid take to charge?
That depends on your generation. The older one, with its 14.1 kWh battery, is full again in about two hours on a 7.2 kW charger. On the recommended 11 kW charger it gets 16 A per phase, so it charges at around 3.7 kW and is full in just under four hours. The newer one, with 25.9 kWh, takes about two and a half hours at 11 kW. Plug the car in during the evening and it is full by morning, whichever generation you drive.

Which generation of Panamera 4 E-Hybrid do I have?
Look at the model year. A car built between 2017 and 2023 is the older generation. It has a 14.1 kWh battery and charges at up to 7.2 kW. From 2024 onwards you have the newer generation, with a 25.9 kWh battery and an 11 kW charger. Not sure? Call or WhatsApp us and we will think along with you.
Do I need a three-phase connection?
For the newer generation, yes: only a three-phase connection gives you the full 11 kW. The older generation charges at up to 7.2 kW and manages on a heavier single-phase connection too. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, and for Germany that starts with a free quotation. Outside those three countries we ship worldwide, but we do not install. We always recommend having the connection made by a certified electrician, which is safer and matters for your insurance.
