The electric and plug-in hybrid models from DS Automobiles charge at home at 6.6 kW to 11 kW. The fully electric DS 3 E-Tense and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense take up to 11 kW on a three-phase connection. The DS 7 and DS 9 plug-in hybrids charge on a lighter single-phase connection. Wallbox Discounter has a separate page for each DS model with the exact charging times and a concrete charger recommendation.

Which EV charger suits your DS Automobiles?
The right charger depends on your model and on the connection you have at home. For the two fully electric models the answer is simple. The DS 3 E-Tense and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense only reach their full 11 kW on a three-phase connection. On a single phase they charge at up to 3.7 kW. An 11 kW EV charger is the right choice for both.
For the two plug-in hybrids it pays to look twice. The DS 7 Crossback E-Tense takes up to 6.6 kW, the DS 9 E-Tense 250 up to 7.4 kW, and both charge on one phase only. A three-phase 11 kW charger delivers 3 x 16 A, so a single-phase car uses one of those phases and stops at 3.7 kW. That is roughly half of what these two can do. A single-phase charger from our 7.4 kW EV chargers gives them their full speed instead. An 11 kW charger still makes sense if a faster EV is on your horizon.
Once you go for a three-phase charger, a built-in MID meter is worth having. That is a certified kWh meter inside the charger. The meter sits in the charger, not in your fuse box. So it records your charging separately from the rest of your household use, and the certification makes that reading legally valid. We stock chargers with this meter at 11 kW and 22 kW. At 7.4 kW single-phase we do not currently carry that combination. You will find the models we do have in our range of EV chargers with a MID meter.
We also arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flanders and Germany. Outside those three countries we ship the charger but do not install it. You then arrange a certified electrician yourself. We always recommend having the connection made by a certified electrician, which is safer and matters for your insurance.

Frequently asked questions about DS Automobiles EV chargers
What charging power do the DS models have?
The fully electric DS 3 E-Tense and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense charge at up to 11 kW. That only works on a three-phase connection. The DS 7 Crossback E-Tense plug-in hybrid charges at up to 6.6 kW, the DS 9 E-Tense 250 at up to 7.4 kW. Both do so on a single phase. An 11 kW charger is therefore the right pick for the DS 3 models, while a 7.4 kW single-phase charger gets more out of the DS 7 and the DS 9.
Do I need a single-phase or a three-phase connection for my DS?
For the DS 7 and DS 9 plug-in hybrids a single-phase connection is enough, and most homes already have one. To charge a DS 3 E-Tense or DS 3 Crossback E-Tense at the full 11 kW you need a three-phase connection. On a single phase these models charge at up to 3.7 kW. A certified electrician checks your fuse box and advises what is possible in your situation. Not sure? Our customer service is happy to help you choose.
