Renault Kangoo Z.E. EV charger: overview per version

Depending on the version, the Kangoo Z.E. carries a battery of roughly 22 to 33 kWh. Renault improved the cell energy density over the years, so the range grew without the battery taking up more space. The charging power stayed at up to 7.4 kW throughout. The Kangoo Z.E. has no DC fast charging, so you always charge at home or at an AC charge point.
Which EV charger fits the Renault Kangoo Z.E.?
Because the Kangoo Z.E. charges at up to 7.4 kW on a single phase, a 7.4 kW charger is the logical choice. Do you have a three-phase connection at home and expect a faster car later? Then an 11 kW EV charger is a more future-proof pick, although the Kangoo Z.E. itself never charges beyond 7.4 kW.

How long does the Renault Kangoo Z.E. take to charge?
Charging time depends on your charger. Count on about 4.5 hours for a full charge on a 7.4 kW charger. On a lighter 3.7 kW home charger, a full battery takes about 9 hours. With a 7.4 kW charger your Kangoo Z.E. is full again every night, even after a busy working day.
Which charging cable do you need?
The Kangoo Z.E. Phase 1 has a Type 1 inlet, the Phase 2 a Type 2 (Mennekes) inlet. If you choose a charger with a socket instead of a fixed cable, the cable type depends on your version. The Phase 2 needs a matching Type 2 charging cable, the Phase 1 a Type 1 to Type 2 cable. No. The onboard charger of the Kangoo Z.E. accepts at most 7.4 kW. A heavier charger does not charge the car any faster. An 11 kW charger can still be handy if you expect a car later that handles more power.
Do I need a charger with a MID meter?
