Borne de recharge Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance: laquelle choisir?
The Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance charges at up to 11 kW at home over a 3-phase connection. That decides which charger makes sense. A 22 kW unit adds nothing here, because the car never draws more than 11 kW. Want to compare more broadly first? Browse all Volkswagen EV chargers in our overview per model.
For the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which charger suits the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance?
At 11 kW AC the ID.3 Pro Performance charges to full overnight without any planning. So an 11 kW charger is the natural match, and a 22 kW model gives you nothing extra.
Look closely at the MID meter when you choose. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that logs your charging sessions with legal accuracy. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn back up to 500 euro a year on home charging with such a meter. Business drivers can declare their usage down to the euro. That makes a charger with a MID meter a smart choice for almost everyone, not just company drivers.
The ID.3 uses a Type 2 connector. If you also charge on the road, or at a point without a fixed cable, you need a Type 2 charging cable. Prefer a low-threshold starting point? Then browse our home chargers.
How long does the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance take to charge?
Charging an empty 58 kWh battery to full takes about 6 hours at 11 kW. Plug in around 23:00 and the car is ready the next morning. On most days you top up the daily range, which takes far less time. A 22 kW charger does not change this, because the car's onboard charger caps AC charging at 11 kW.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need a 3-phase connection for the ID.3 Pro Performance?
To charge at 11 kW at home you need a 3-phase connection with 3x 16A. With a single-phase connection the ID.3 charges more slowly, roughly 3.7 to 7.4 kW depending on your fuse group. A full charge then takes longer. Your grid operator can arrange a 3-phase connection for you.
Why does a MID meter matter for the ID.3 Pro Performance?
A MID-certified kWh meter records your charging sessions in a legally watertight way. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn back up to 500 euro a year on their home charging. Business drivers can declare their usage exactly. Without a MID meter you miss that option.
Should you install the charger yourself or use an installer?
We always recommend having the connection done by a certified installer. That is safer and it matters for your insurance. Wallbox Discounter arranges installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, with a free quotation for Germany. Shipping is worldwide, but installation covers only those three countries. See our page on EV charger installation for the details.
