The easiest way to charge an electric Citroën is at home, on your own EV charger. The charging power you need depends on the model. The e-C3 and e-C4 charge at 7.4 kW as standard and at 11 kW with the optional on-board charger. The e-Jumpy handles 11 kW as standard. Wallbox Discounter has a separate page for each Citroën model we cover, with charging advice for your exact version.

Which EV charger suits a Citroën?

Most Citroën EVs charge at home on a single phase at 7.4 kW. With the optional three-phase 11 kW on-board charger, they charge faster. Only the e-Jumpy charges at 11 kW as standard. That makes an 11 kW EV charger the most future-proof choice for almost every Citroën. Drive a single-phase car today? Your charger is then ready for your next model.

Single-phase means the car draws power from one of the phases of your mains connection, three-phase means it uses all three. An 11 kW charger supplies 16 A per phase. A car charging on one phase therefore gets 3.7 kW from it, half of what a standard Citroën can take. Want the full 7.4 kW on one phase? Then choose a 7.4 kW EV charger. Do you have a three-phase connection and the optional on-board charger? Then an 11 kW charger gives you the full charging power straight away.

We recommend a charger with a built-in MID meter. A MID meter is a certified, calibrated kWh meter inside the charger. It records the electricity you charge at home separately from your household consumption, so you know exactly what charging costs you. Our single-phase 7.4 kW chargers do not have a built-in MID meter; in our range, that starts at 11 kW. In our view, a MID meter is no longer a luxury but simply a smart choice.

Browse all 11 kW EV chargers or 22 kW EV chargers in our range. We always recommend having the connection made by a qualified installer, because it is safer and matters for your insurance. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. In Germany, it runs through a free quotation.

Frequently asked questions about Citroën EV chargers

What charging power do most Citroën cars have?

Models such as the e-C3, e-C4 and e-Berlingo charge at 7.4 kW on a single phase as standard. On three phases they reach 11 kW as an option. The e-Jumpy charges at 11 kW as standard. The e-SpaceTourer has 7.4 kW as standard, with 11 kW as an option. An 11 kW EV charger covers the maximum AC charging power of every recent Citroën EV. The e-Jumpy uses it as standard, the other models with the optional 11 kW on-board charger.

Does a Citroën need a Type 2 connection?

Modern Citroën EVs charge via a Type 2 connection, just like almost all EV chargers. Only the older Citroën C-Zero still uses a Type 1 plug. For charging on the go, you then need a matching Type 1 to Type 2 charging cable. At home, you can use the same cable on a charger with a Type 2 socket.
