StreetScooter Work L EV charger: which one fits best?
The StreetScooter Work L is an electric delivery van with a 40 kWh battery and a maximum AC charging power of 11 kW. That charging power decides which charger makes sense: a more powerful charger will not charge this van any faster than 11 kW. Which EV charger fits the StreetScooter Work L?
At home, the Work L charges at up to 11 kW via a 3-phase connection, so an 11 kW charger is the logical choice. A more powerful 22 kW charger adds nothing, because the van itself never takes more than 11 kW. With only a single-phase connection at home, the van charges considerably more slowly.

It measures the electricity you charge at home separately from your household consumption, so you know exactly what charging the van costs. For a van that works for your business, that reliable record is almost indispensable, and private drivers benefit from it just as much. How long does the StreetScooter Work L take to charge?
With an 11 kW charger, the calculation for the 40 kWh battery comes to about 3.5 hours from empty to full (40 kWh divided by 11 kW). In practice it takes longer: when the updated van was launched in 2019, reports put the time to 80 percent at about three and a half to five hours. Either way, the van is ready overnight for the next working day. On a single-phase connection charging takes considerably longer, so for daily use a 3-phase connection with an 11 kW charger is the better choice.
