Ford Mustang Mach-E EV charger: an overview by version
The Ford Mustang Mach-E comes in several versions, from the Standard Range to the powerful GT. The version matters little for your charger choice. On a three-phase connection every version charges at 11 kW at home on alternating current (AC), whatever the battery pack. What does differ is the battery size, and with it the charging time and the speed at a direct current (DC) rapid charger. Not sure which version you have? For the Ford Mustang Mach-E we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.
Versions of the Ford Mustang Mach-E
| Version | Usable battery | Max. AC charging power | DC fast charging | Charging information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Range (SR) | 72.6 kWh | 11 kW | up to 150 kW | Ford Mustang Mach-E SR AWD RWD |
| Extended Range (ER) | 88.0 kWh | 11 kW | up to 150 kW | Ford Mustang Mach-E ER AWD RWD |
| GT | 91.0 kWh | 11 kW | up to 150 kW | Ford Mustang Mach-E GT |
These figures apply to the Mustang Mach-E as ordered since April 2025. Do you have an Extended Range from before that facelift, from 2022 to early 2025? Then your car has a larger usable battery of 91 kWh, the same capacity as the current GT. A Standard Range from before November 2023 has a smaller usable battery, 70.0 kWh in 2022 and 2023 and 68.0 kWh in 2021. That car also charges on DC at about 110 to 115 kW instead of 150 kW. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive share the same battery and the same charging behaviour.
Which EV charger suits the Ford Mustang Mach-E?
Every Mustang Mach-E charges at a maximum of 11 kW on AC. An 11 kW EV charger is therefore the logical choice for all three versions. That does ask for a three-phase connection, a connection with three power groups that carries the higher charging power. The car has one CCS Combo 2 inlet. Its upper Type 2 section handles AC charging at home, the two pins below handle DC rapid charging.
At 11 kW our range includes an EV charger with a built-in MID meter. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter. It measures your charging separately from your household use. So you know exactly what charging at home costs. Our chargers with a MID meter all do this. An EV charger with app control lets you follow each session and set a starting time from your phone.
On a single-phase connection the Mach-E charges at roughly 7.4 kW. A 7.4 kW EV charger then matches what the car can actually take. At that power there is no model with a certified meter; those start at 11 kW. Have the connection made by a qualified electrician, because that is safer and many insurers expect it.
We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. Shipping is worldwide, installation is not, so elsewhere you book a local electrician yourself. Our home EV chargers bring together the models made for a private driveway or garage.
Charging time of the Ford Mustang Mach-E
The charging time depends on the battery pack. On an 11 kW charger the Standard Range is full in about 7 hours 45 minutes. The Extended Range needs roughly 9 hours 30 minutes and the GT about 9 hours 45 minutes. These are practical times from 0 to 100 percent, including charging losses. Part of the energy turns into heat, so real charging always takes longer than the theory suggests. On three phases an overnight charge covers all three versions. On a single phase reckon on about 11 hours for the Standard Range, and about 14 hours for the Extended Range or the GT from empty. These times apply to the versions ordered since April 2025.
On the road you use a DC rapid charger, where every version reaches up to 150 kW.

Frequently asked questions about the Ford Mustang Mach-E
Do all versions of the Mustang Mach-E charge at the same speed on AC?
Yes. The Standard Range, the Extended Range and the GT all charge at up to 11 kW on AC. They also share the same charger type: a Type 2 port, so the same charger suits every version. The difference is the battery size. A larger pack simply needs more hours to fill.
Do I need a three-phase connection for the Mustang Mach-E?
For the full 11 kW, yes. On three phases the Mach-E charges at its highest AC speed. On a single-phase connection it reaches about 7.4 kW. For anyone charging at home overnight that is usually enough to fill the battery. This holds for every version ordered since April 2025, and for the 91 kWh Extended Range sold before it.
