How long does the Kia EV9 99.8 kWh AWD GT-Line take to charge?

With an 11 kW EV charger, you can charge the 96 kWh battery from nearly empty to full in about 10.5 hours. Plug the car in during the evening and it will be ready again the next morning, with a WLTP range of around 505 km. On longer journeys, you can use a DC fast charger instead. Thanks to its 800 V system, the GT-Line can accept up to around 210 kW at a compatible CCS fast charger, allowing you to add a substantial amount of range during a short stop.

No. The onboard charger of the EV9 is limited to 11 kW AC. Even when connected to a 22 kW EV charger, the car will accept a maximum of 11 kW at home. An 11 kW EV charger is therefore the appropriate choice for this Kia.

Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?

Technically, no. However, a MID meter can be useful because you already charge at 11 kW and chargers with certified metering are available at this power level. The meter does not reduce charging speed and gives you a clear measurement of the electricity used for home charging.
