An open-end charging cable is a charging cable with a type 2 plug on one side and an open end with loose wires on the other side. These loose wires allow the charging cable to be easily connected to a fixed EV charger, making it perfect for a charging cable repair. An open-end charging cable is also ideal if you want to replace your short charging cable with a longer one.

Different types of open-end charging cables

Various types of open-end charging cables are offered online. The difference mainly lies in the charging capacity of the charging cable and the current rating (16A or 32A). As mentioned earlier, all charging cables have one type 2 plug at one end and loose wires at the other end, and are available from the brands Loady and Ratio Electric.

Our open-end charging cable is not available with a type 1 plug. With the type 2 plug, we use the European Union standard.
