The Tesla Model X Standard charges at home at up to 11 kW through a Type 2 connection. That power sets your choice. An 11 kW charger uses the car fully, while a heavier charger adds nothing, because the car caps the maximum itself. Every Tesla model has its own charging advice page. For the Tesla Model X Standard we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers. On a three-phase connection an 11 kW model gives the car its full speed. A 22 kW charger adds nothing, because the Model X caps at 11 kW.

Which EV charger suits the Tesla Model X Standard?
Because the Model X Standard charges at up to 11 kW at home, an 11 kW charger on a three-phase connection is the logical choice. A three-phase connection uses three live wires that together deliver the power. A 22 kW charger costs more without charging this car any faster.
Almost every charger we recommend has a built-in MID meter. That is a certified kWh meter, which records exactly how much you charge at home. It lets you track your charging costs precisely, and split them with an employer or lease company when you drive for work. From 2026, private drivers in the Netherlands can also earn back up to 500 euros a year on their home charging. That scheme applies to the Netherlands only. How long does the Tesla Model X Standard take to charge?
With an 11 kW charger, a full charge of the roughly 98 kWh battery takes about 9 hours (98 divided by 11). Plug the car in around 11 pm and it is ready in the morning. If you only have a single-phase connection at home, the power drops to 3.7 kW and charging takes longer. The Model X uses a Type 2 connection. To charge it away from home, you need a separate Type 2 charging cable.

Does the Tesla Model X Standard need a three-phase connection?
For the full 11 kW, yes. On a single-phase connection you charge at up to 3.7 kW, however heavy the charger. With a three-phase connection at home you use the Model X Standard's full 11 kW.
Why does a MID meter matter for the Tesla Model X Standard?
A MID-certified kWh meter records your home charging precisely. That helps you track your costs, and split them with an employer or lease company if you drive for work. In the Netherlands it also opens up the 2026 scheme that pays private drivers back on their charging. Without a MID meter you miss those options.
