Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro EV charger: which one fits best?
The Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro has a 106 kWh usable battery (114 kWh gross). That is the largest pack of any electric Audi at Wallbox Discounter. This is the Q8 e-tron Sportback built from 2023 to 2025, with production ending in February 2025. A pack that size calls for an EV charger that can actually use it. As standard the car charges at 11 kW on alternating current. An optional second onboard charger lifts that to 22 kW. Our Audi EV charger overview covers the other electric models in the range.
For the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.
That 11 kW matches exactly what the standard car draws. Ordered the optional 22 kW onboard charger? Then a 22 kW EV charger halves your charging time at home. That also needs a supply rated for 32 A on each of the three phases. Have an electrician check your connection first. A charger with a MID meter counts your charging separately on a certified kWh meter. You then know what charging at home really costs. At 11 kW the choice of models with one is small. Most built-in MID meters sit in the 22 kW range. Our home EV chargers are the easiest place to start comparing.

Which EV charger suits the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro?
With a 106 kWh pack, a full charge at 11 kW takes a night. A 22 kW EV charger adds nothing for this car by default. The standard onboard charger draws 16 A per phase, so 3 x 16 A gives 11 kW. On a 22 kW charger it still caps itself at those 16 A. The optional onboard charger draws 32 A per phase, which is 3 x 32 A or 22 kW. That car gets only half its speed from an 11 kW charger.
So how do you tell? The 22 kW onboard charger was a paid factory option. A car that has it always has a second charge flap on the passenger side. But that flap could also be ordered on its own. So one flap rules the option out, while two flaps do not prove it. The original order sheet or an Audi dealer gives the definite answer.
This car needs a three-phase supply to reach its 11 kW. A single-phase connection cannot come near that figure. For this Audi, single-phase charging at home is the wrong choice.
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter built into the charger. It counts your charging apart from the rest of your household use. Built-in MID meters are concentrated in the 22 kW range, not in the 11 kW range. Our chargers with a MID meter show which models offer one. If you ordered the 22 kW onboard charger, you are shopping in exactly that range.
All of this applies to the Q8 e-tron Sportback from 2023 to 2025. The earlier e-tron Sportback 55 quattro has a smaller battery and different figures.
Compare the 11 kW EV chargers side by side. Or the 22 kW EV chargers if your car has the optional onboard charger.
How long does the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro take to charge?
Audi publishes about 11.5 hours for a full charge at 11 kW. With the optional 22 kW onboard charger that drops to about 6 hours. Both times include charging losses, so they run longer than a plain calculation. These figures apply to the 2023 to 2025 Q8 e-tron Sportback. In practice you rarely charge from empty to full. Plug in at night with 40 percent left and the car is ready by morning.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 quattro charge at 22 kW at home?
Only if the car was ordered with the optional 22 kW onboard charger. As standard this Audi charges at 11 kW on alternating current. With the option you need a 22 kW charger and a 3 x 32 A three-phase supply. Without it the car always charges at 11 kW at home. For daily use that is plenty, even with a 106 kWh battery.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
That depends on how precisely you want to track your charging costs. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter inside the charger. It records your home charging apart from your household consumption. Of the chargers with a MID meter, only one runs at 11 kW. It does not appear in our 11 kW listing. Nearly all of them are 22 kW units. So with the 22 kW onboard charger, a MID meter is easy to find. Compare the options in our chargers with a MID meter.
We always recommend having the charger connected by a qualified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance. We ship worldwide, but installation is limited to three countries. Wallbox Discounter can arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany.
