Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro EV charger: which one fits best?
The Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro charges at home at 11 kW as standard. That runs over a three-phase connection. With 86.5 kWh usable, a normal wall socket is far too slow for this battery. An 11 kW wallbox refills it overnight instead. Choosing an Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro EV charger is therefore mainly about matching that 11 kW. For the other models in the range, see our overview of EV chargers for Audi.
For the Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.
Did you order your car with the optional second onboard charger? Then a unit from our 22 kW EV chargers doubles your charging speed at home.

Which EV charger suits the Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro?
The 55 quattro takes 11 kW AC as standard, so an 11 kW charger uses the car to the full. The car has a Type 2 connector. Every charger in our range works with it. A small number of cars left the factory with a second onboard charger for 22 kW. That was a paid option, not standard equipment. Check the specification of your own car if you are unsure.
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter built into the charger. It records exactly what you charge at home, separately from the rest of your household use. So you always know what your driving actually costs. At 11 kW the choice is narrow, so check the MID filter before you settle on a model. Most of our chargers with a MID meter are 22 kW models.

How long does the Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro take to charge?
The bare sum is simple: 86.5 kWh divided by 11 kW comes out at roughly 8 hours. In practice it is closer to 9 hours. Charging always loses a little energy as heat. Plug in around 23:00 and the car is full by morning. Your charging speed at home is set by the car, not by the charger. A heavier wallbox will not beat those 9 hours. With the optional 22 kW onboard charger fitted, that time roughly halves. With a battery this big, a wallbox means you drive off full every morning.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro charge faster with a 22 kW charger?
Only if your car has the optional 22 kW onboard charger. As standard the 55 quattro charges at 11 kW AC, and a 22 kW unit adds nothing then. Check the specification of your own car if you are unsure.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
That depends on what you want to see. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that measures your home charging on its own. It splits your charging from the rest of your electricity use, so the cost per charge is visible. If that matters to you, start your search in the MID range: at 11 kW the selection is small.
We always advise having the charger connected by a certified electrician. It is safer, and your insurer will thank you for it. Our installation service covers the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, while shipping is worldwide.
