Which EV charger fits the Peugeot e-3008 Dual Motor?

Three features matter for this car. A full charge takes around eight hours, so the car is drawing power while your household does too. That is what EV chargers with dynamic load balancing are for. The charger measures how much current is free in your fuse box, then adjusts the charging power automatically. A long session also makes timing worth it. Look at EV chargers with an app to charge when electricity is cheapest.

The third feature is the MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records exactly how much you charge at home. Almost every charger we recommend has one built in. From 2026, private drivers in the Netherlands can claim up to 500 euros a year through their energy supplier. That works only with a certified meter, and the scheme applies from 2026 in the Netherlands only. Outside the Netherlands the meter still earns its place. How long does the Peugeot e-3008 Dual Motor take to charge?

Expect around eight hours for a full battery. The raw sum of 73 kWh divided by 11 kW lands just over 6.5 hours. Charging losses add the rest. Plug in around 23:00 and you drive off in the morning with a full battery and up to 490 kilometres of range.

The Dual Motor covers slightly less distance than the single-motor version. That is logical, because all-wheel drive and the higher output ask for more energy. On the road a rapid charger tops the battery up at up to 160 kW. That adds a lot of range in about half an hour.

Only have a single-phase connection at home? Then the car charges at up to 7.4 kW and a full charge takes several hours longer. A qualified electrician can tell you what upgrading to a three-phase connection involves where you live.

Does the Dual Motor charge faster than the standard e-3008?

No. The all-wheel drive sits in the drivetrain, not in the charger. The on-board charger accepts up to 11 kW AC at home, exactly like the single-motor version. Charging times at home are therefore almost identical.

Do I need a three-phase connection for the e-3008 Dual Motor?

Yes, if you want the full 11 kW at home. On a single-phase connection the car charges at up to 7.4 kW and a full charge takes longer. A three-phase connection is arranged through your local electricity network operator, or your installer can advise you.

Do I need a charger with a MID meter?

In our view, yes. A MID certified kWh meter records your charging at home accurately. In the Netherlands that unlocks up to 500 euros a year from 2026 through your energy supplier. Elsewhere it gives you a reliable reading to settle with an employer or lease company. Without a certified meter you miss the Dutch scheme and cannot produce that reading, though the charger's app still shows what you use.
