Hyundai Inster Long Range EV charger: which one fits best?
The Hyundai Inster Long Range charges at up to 11 kW at home through a 3-phase connection. That is exactly enough to fill the 49 kWh battery overnight, without any planning. For this version you choose an 11 kW charger. Each Hyundai model has its own charging advice in our overview of all Hyundai EV chargers.
For the Hyundai Inster Long Range we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger suits the Hyundai Inster Long Range?
The Inster Long Range accepts 11 kW AC. An 11 kW charger on a 3-phase connection is therefore the smart choice. Charging faster makes no sense, because the car takes no more than 11 kW.
Almost every charger we recommend has a built-in MID meter, a certified kWh meter. That matters more than you might think. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn back up to 500 euro per year through their energy supplier, but only with a certified meter.
A MID meter also lets you settle charging costs accurately with an employer or lease company. Compare the options among our chargers with a MID meter, or start with a simple home charger.
The Inster charges through a Type 2 connection, like most modern chargers. You only need a separate Type 2 charging cable to charge elsewhere. At home you charge through the fixed cable or socket of the charger.
How long does the Hyundai Inster Long Range take to charge?
The 49 kWh battery (46 kWh usable) is full again in about 5 hours on an 11 kW charger. Plug the car in at 23:00 and it is ready in the morning with the full 370 km WLTP range. A normal wall socket takes almost a full day for the same charge. A fixed charger therefore saves you a lot of time every day. Want a quick top-up on the road? Through a CCS fast charger the Inster goes from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour.
Other versions of the Hyundai Inster
Wallbox Discounter also has charging advice for the other version of the Hyundai Inster:
- Hyundai Inster Standard Range, with a smaller battery and a shorter range
The Long Range stands out with the larger 49 kWh battery and the longer range. Both versions charge at 11 kW AC.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Hyundai Inster Long Range need a 3-phase connection?
For the full 11 kW you need a 3-phase connection. With only a single-phase connection the charging power falls back to a maximum of 7.4 kW, and charging takes longer. Your grid operator can arrange a 3-phase connection for you.
Why does a MID meter matter for the Inster Long Range?
With a certified kWh meter you record exactly how much your car charges. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn back up to 500 euro per year through their energy supplier. A MID meter also lets business drivers settle charging sessions with an employer or lease company. We therefore recommend a charger with a MID meter.
Should I have the charger installed?
We install EV chargers in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. We always recommend a certified installer for the connection to your fuse box. It is safer and important for your insurance. Shipping is worldwide, but the installation service covers those three countries only.
