-
Which charging stations are suitable for business settlement?
In principle, any charging station is suitable for business settlement. Because there are two possibilities.
- KWH meter MID approved
A KWH meter is placed in the meter box and digitally displays the consumption of the charging station It is approved to use this data for business settlement.
Click here for an overview of 1-phase and 3-phase MID approved KWH meters.
- OCPP backend system
An OCPP backend system enables an administrator to manage, monitor and settle the consumption of users for business purposes. This requires a subscription.
Click here for an overview of charging stations with an OCPP backend system.
-
What does OCPP mean?
OCPP stands for Open Charge Point Protocol. It enables the administrator to manage, monitor and charge the use of the charging station.
Via a backend, it allows the administrator to choose who can use a (particular) charge point and what the consumption is per user.
Charging stations with an OCPP backend are often used for business settlements.
To use an OCPP backend, a subscription must be purchased. The cost for this varies between 4-6 euros per month. This subscription can be taken out through Wallbox Discounter. But it can also be done through external parties such as ANWB or Vattenfall.

How many solar panels do I need for an electric car?
The amount of solar panels depends on how much you drive per year, the kWh kilometer consumption and the yield of the solar panels. To determine how many solar panels you need you can use the following formula;
(Number of kilometers per year / The KWh consumption of the car per kilometer)/KWh yield 1 solar panel= number of solar panels,
In general, a 100% Electric car will need 8/9 solar panels. And a hybrid car 4/5 solar panels.
-
Is it possible to charge my car with solar energy?
It is possible to charge your car with solar energy generated by your solar panels. And this will only become more favorable in the coming years. The balancing scheme will decrease in the coming years. This will make it much more attractive to use the generated electricity for your hybrid or electric car. In combination with possibly a home battery, you can use solar energy whenever you want.
Not every charging station is suitable for this. View all charging stations suitable for solar charging here.
-
Which charging stations are suitable for solar panels?
Not every charging station is suitable for charging your electric or hybrid car with solar energy. There are several brands like MyEnergi, Ratio, Wallbox and V2C which offer charging stations that allow you to charge your electric or hybrid car with solar energy.
Each brand requires a communication module and CT terminals for communication between the charging station and the solar panels. Examples include the Myenergi Harvi communication module and corresponding CT clamps.
Here is an overview of all charging stations that can charge with solar energy.
-
How can I monitor the energy consumption of my solar panels?
It is possible to monitor the output and energy consumption of your charging stations By means of CT terminals, the amount of power (per phase) can be measured which is available to your vehicle. In addition to the CT clamps, each brand of wallbox needs a communication module. This is necessary so that the charging station knows how much solar power is available.
For the Ratio Solar-box you need the sensor-box and for a Myenergi Zappi you need the Harvi.
You can monitor the yield and consumption in a free downloadable App from the brand of the charging station.
-
Can I offset solar energy for business purposes?
When charging your electric or Hybrid car at home, the total consumption per period is considered. This cannot be divided into grid and solar power for business charging purposes. However, you can set different modes in the charging station whether to charge using only solar power, or only grid power or both. Thus, it is somewhat possible to overcome this.

What are the basic costs for installation?
We cooperate with an electrical technical installation agency. This installation partner takes care of the entire installation. And offers a 10-year material warranty (on group box components of EMAT) and a 2-year warranty on the installation. The basic cost for installing your charging station is 399 EUR. This is a fixed amount. Keep in mind that there will always be additional costs such as an earth leakage circuit breaker, extra cables, extra excavation work, expansion of your meter box, etc.
More information about installation costs can be found on our installation page
-
Within what time frame will the installation take place?
Installation can already take place within two weeks of order approval. Our installation partner will send an e-mail with information and some questions. In order to get a good picture of the environment and situation. So that on the day of installation there will be no surprises and the installation will go smoothly.
-
Is there a warranty on the installation?
Our installation partner offers 2-year installation warranty and 10-year material warranty (on group box components of the EMAT brand). In addition, you have a 2-year warranty on the charging station.
-
Can I do preparatory work myself?
In consultation with us or installation partner, you can do preparatory work yourself.
Examples include digging and paving work.
-
Can I install my charging station myself?
It is possible to install a charging station yourself. Each charging station comes with a manual. In other words, there is no prohibition on connecting a charging station yourself. However, we do advise to have this done by a qualified electrician. You are working with electricity and high voltage. Which can be very dangerous when you have little or no understanding of this type of connection.
-
How does the installation work?
After approval of the quotation or order, we will already send the charging station to the installation address. Within a few days you will receive an e-mail from our installation partner. This e-mail contains some questions so that our installation partner has a good view of the situation and environment. After answering this e-mail, an installation date will be scheduled. You will also receive an e-mail.
-
How do I know if my fuse box is suitable for a charging station?
Almost every meter box is basically suitable for a charging station. Whether it has a 1-phase or 3-phase connection makes no difference. There will always be minor adjustments to your meter box as the installation of a ground fault circuit interrupter and possibly a group expansion box.
If you have questions about your meter box. Send a picture of your meter cupboard to [email protected] and one of our advisors will contact you.
-
How can I tell if I have a 1-phase or a 3-phase connection?
Every meter box consists of a 1-phase or 3-phase connection. To find out which connection you have, there are two ways.
- On the electricity meters it says 220/230V, then you have a 1-phase connection and with 3-phase it says 3x 220/230 or 380/400V.
- Look at the energy statement from your energy supplier.
There are different charging stations available for both 1-phase and 3-phase.
-
What type of cable do I need to install a charging station?
To connect the charging station in your meter box, our installation partner uses YMVK cable. The thickness of the power cable is determined by the phase connection in the meter box and the charging capacity of the charging station.
In addition to laying a power cable, a UTP cable, or internet cable, can also be laid to the charging station. This is necessary for system updates, Dynamic Load Balancing and communication with solar panels, among other things.
-
What is Dynamic Load Balancing?
Dynamic load balancing means that the charging station has the ability to regulate available power in the home. A charging station requires a lot of power. When several ''heavier'' devices such as a heat pump, jacuzzi or boiler are switched on and thus the power consumption in the house increases, the charging station can adjust itself to ask for less or even no power. This is to prevent overloading.
-
What is RFID?
RFID stands for Radio-Frequency identification. It is simply a technique applied to access the charging station. Using an RFID key, it is possible to lock and unlock the charging station. RFID keys are available as a pass or tag.
-
What is the loading capacity of my car?
The big difference is whether you have a Hybrid or 100% electric car. A Hybrid car will have a charging capacity of 3.7kW or 7.4kW (1-phase, with the exception of some cars even 2-phase) and a fully electric car will have a charging capacity of 11kW or 22kW (3-phase).
To find out what charging capacity your car has you can use our car brands page. Choose your brand, select the correct model and at the bottom of the page you will find the charging capacity of your electric or hybrid car.
-
Which charging cable is suitable for my car?
A charging cable has a type-1 or type-2 plug. Type-2 is the most common plug worldwide. 95% of electric and hybrid cars in Europe have a Type 2 plug. The Type 2 plug is also called the Mennekes plug. It has been standardized by the European Commission as a charging plug for European electric vehicles such as cars and motorcycles. The Mennekes plug can charge both single-phase and three-phase.
Some older models of electric cars still charge with a Type 1 plug. A Type 1 plug can only charge 1-phase and is mostly seen in Japan and the US.
To find out which charging cable is suitable for your car you can use our car brands page. Choose your brand, select the correct model and at the bottom of the page you will find which plug your electric or hybrid car has.
