Which EV charger suits the Audi Q4 e-tron 35?
Two-phase charging is the key to this car. The onboard charger draws 3.6 kW from each of two phases, which adds up to 7.2 kW. Two-phase chargers are not sold anywhere, so your real choice is between single-phase and three-phase.
A three-phase 11 kW charger offers three phases. Your Audi simply uses two of them and reaches its full speed. A single-phase charger has one phase to give, so the car stops at 3.6 kW and needs twice as long.
That is why 11 kW is the right choice here, even though the car never draws the full 11 kW. A 22 kW charger adds nothing, because the onboard charger sets the ceiling. Spend the difference on features you will actually use.
Watch for a built-in MID meter when you compare models. That is a certified kWh meter, and it records exactly how much energy you charge at home. You see what your charging really costs, separately from the rest of your electricity bill. The same reading lets you invoice an employer or leasing company. In the Netherlands it is worth more still: from 2026 drivers there claim back up to 500 euros a year through their energy supplier. That scheme runs in the Netherlands only. Not faster than 7.2 kW, because the onboard charger caps the speed. But you do need a three-phase connection to reach that 7.2 kW. The car draws from two of those three phases, and a single-phase unit can only offer one.

Do I need a charger with an MID meter?
