The Renault Zoe R90 Entry is the entry-level version of the Zoe with the 41 kWh battery. At home, it charges surprisingly quickly. Thanks to the built-in Chameleon charger, it accepts up to 22 kW of alternating current. Many electric cars stop at 11 kW. The available charging power is therefore an important factor when choosing your charger: with a 22 kW EV charger, you can make full use of the Zoe's AC charging capability. Which EV charger suits the Renault Zoe R90 Entry?
The R90 Entry charges at up to 22 kW AC. A three-phase 22 kW EV charger with 3 × 32 A therefore makes full use of its charging capacity. With an 11 kW connection, the Zoe still charges quickly and can be fully recharged in around four hours.
When choosing a 22 kW EV charger, also consider a built-in MID meter. This is a certified kWh meter that records the electricity used for charging separately from the rest of your household consumption. This makes it easy to see exactly how much electricity your car uses at home.
Many chargers in the 22 kW range are available with a built-in MID meter. In the 11 kW range, this feature is less common. You can find the relevant models under EV chargers with a MID meter.

How long does the Renault Zoe R90 Entry take to charge?
The charging time depends on the 41 kWh battery and the available charging power. With a 22 kW EV charger, a nearly empty battery can be fully recharged in about 2 hours. With an 11 kW EV charger, a full charge takes around 4 hours. In both cases, an overnight charging session is more than sufficient.
The R90 Entry does not support DC fast charging. At home and at public AC charge points, you therefore charge through the Type 2 connection.

Yes. The Renault Zoe R90 Entry has a Chameleon charger that can accept up to 22 kW AC. This gives it a higher AC charging capacity than many electric cars that are limited to 11 kW. To use the full 22 kW, you need a three-phase connection capable of supplying 3 × 32 A.
Does the Renault Zoe R90 Entry need a MID meter?
The car itself does not require a MID meter. However, a certified kWh meter can be useful if you want to measure the electricity used for charging separately from the rest of your household consumption. This makes it easier to monitor your actual home charging costs.
Can the Renault Zoe R90 Entry fast charge?
No. The R90 Entry charges only with alternating current through its Type 2 connection and does not support DC fast charging. The advantage is that its AC charging capacity of up to 22 kW already provides relatively short charging times at home and at suitable public AC charge points.
