Lucid Air EV charger: overview by version
The Lucid Air is a premium electric sedan from the United States. It combines a long range with a powerful onboard charger, which is unusual for an EV. In Europe the Air comes in several versions, from the Pure to the Grand Touring and the Dream Edition. Battery capacity runs from about 84 to 118 kWh. Wallbox Discounter has a separate page with charging advice for every version. Also take a look at our overview of Lucid EV chargers.
For the Lucid Air we recommend a charger from our 22 kW EV chargers.
Versions of the Lucid Air
Every version of the Air charges at home at up to 22 kW of alternating current (AC). That is exceptional, because most electric cars stop at 11 kW. The Air therefore uses the full power of a 22 kW charger. For that you need a three-phase connection at home, fused at 32 amps per phase. Three phases together deliver more power than one. At 3 x 16 A you charge at 11 kW instead.
| Version | Battery (usable) | Max. AC charging power | WLTP range | EV charger information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lucid Air Pure | approx. 84 kWh | 22 kW | approx. 708 to 747 km | Lucid Air Pure |
| Lucid Air Touring | approx. 92 kWh | 22 kW | approx. 715 to 780 km | Lucid Air Touring |
| Lucid Air Grand Touring | approx. 118 kWh | 22 kW | approx. 817 to 960 km | Lucid Air Grand Touring |
| Lucid Air Dream Edition R | approx. 118 kWh | 22 kW | focused on maximum range | Lucid Air Dream Edition R |
| Lucid Air Dream Edition P | approx. 118 kWh | 22 kW | focused on performance | Lucid Air Dream Edition P |
Which EV charger suits the Lucid Air?
Every Air charges at up to 22 kW AC. With a three-phase connection you get the most out of a 22 kW charger. Is your connection lighter? Then an 11 kW charger is a fine and cheaper choice. You still charge the Air fully well within one night. The Air uses a Type 2 connector, the European standard, so almost every charger in our range fits.
Preferably choose a charger with a built-in MID meter, a certified kWh meter. It records exactly how much electricity you charge at home. You then see what charging your car costs, separately from the rest of your household use. At 22 kW that is easy: every EV charger with a MID meter in our range is three-phase. Load balancing is useful as well. The charger lowers its power when the rest of your home draws a lot, so your fuse holds.

We always recommend having the connection made by a qualified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance. In the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany we arrange the EV charger installation for you, in Germany via a free quotation. We ship almost everywhere, but installation is limited to those three countries.

Frequently asked questions about the Lucid Air
Do all versions of the Lucid Air charge equally fast at home?
Yes. Every version of the Air charges at home at up to 22 kW of alternating current. That goes for the Pure just as much as for the Dream Edition. The difference is mainly the battery size. A bigger battery means more kilometres, but also a slightly longer charging time. With a three-phase connection you use the full charging power of the Air.
Which version do I have and how do I know which EV charger I need?
You will find the version in your car papers or in the Lucid app. Not sure which charger suits you best? Choose your version above for specific advice or ask us via WhatsApp or phone. We help you make the right choice, free and without obligation.
