Charging cable 3 meter
A 3 metre charging cable is short, light and quick to put away. The ideal choice if your car’s charging port is close to the charging point, for example at a wall-mounted EV charger next to your driveway. At Wallbox Discounter, you will find 3 metre charging cables with a Type 2 connection, from 3.7 to 22 kW, from Loady and Myenergi.
When should you choose a short charging cable?
A short cable has practical advantages when the distance is small. You do not have excess cable lying on the ground, the cable is lighter to carry and it easily fits in a bag in the boot. Is your car further away from the charging point, or do you often change parking spots? Then a 5 metre charging cable gives you more slack.
Which charging power suits you?
You also choose a short cable based on power. A 1-phase connection reaches up to 7.4 kW, ideal for daily top-ups. With a 3-phase connection, meaning three phases at the same time, you can reach 11 kW or 22 kW. Your car ultimately determines how much power you actually charge with.
Ready for Plug & Charge and the ISO 15118 standard
From 1 January 2027, new EV chargers in the EU must support the ISO 15118-20 standard. This standard enables Plug & Charge: charging without a card or app, and later also bidirectional charging (V2G, feeding power back from your car). A Type 2 charging cable contains the communication conductor used by these functions, so your short cable will be ready for this too.
Order separately or complete with EV charger
You can order the 3 metre charging cable separately, useful as a fixed cable or as a spare. Would you prefer a fixed home solution? Then view our EV chargers, optionally including installation by a certified installer. Do you want to avoid having a cable lying on the ground? Then take a look at a spiral charging cable.
