Kia EV3 Standard Range EV charger: which one fits best?
The Kia EV3 Standard Range charges at home at up to 11 kW through a 3-phase connection. That is enough to fully refill the 58.3 kWh battery (55.0 kWh usable) overnight, without any planning. An 11 kW EV charger is therefore the logical choice. Do you drive the version with the larger battery? Then check the Kia EV3 Long Range page or browse all Kia EV chargers in our overview.
For the Kia EV3 Standard Range we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger fits the Kia EV3 Standard Range?
The Kia EV3 Standard Range accepts a maximum of 11 kW AC. A faster 22 kW charger gives you nothing here, because the car never charges quicker than its own onboard charger allows. An 11 kW EV charger is the perfect match.
A built-in MID meter is well worth looking for. That is a certified kWh meter that records your charging accurately. From 2026, private drivers in the Netherlands can earn back up to 500 euros per year on their home charging costs with such a meter, but that scheme applies from 2026 in the Netherlands only. Business drivers also need a MID meter to reimburse charging sessions correctly. Browse our charging stations with a MID meter or all 11 kW EV chargers in our range.
For simple daily charging at home, a straightforward home EV charger already covers everything this car needs.
How long does the Kia EV3 Standard Range take to charge?
On paper an 11 kW charger fills the 55 kWh battery in about 5 hours (55 kWh divided by 11 kW). In practice, count on around 6 hours including charging losses. Plug in at 23:00 and the car is ready by morning. You wake up to a full battery and roughly 436 km of WLTP range. A normal wall socket (2.3 kW) needs well over a day for a full charge. For daily use a fixed charger is essential. On the road, fast charging runs via CCS up to 100 kW, which adds a lot of range in half an hour.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Kia EV3 Standard Range need a 3-phase connection?
Yes. To reach the full 11 kW you need a 3-phase connection with 3x16 amps. On single phase the EV3 charges at up to 7.4 kW and a full charge takes longer. No 3-phase connection yet? An electrician can arrange an upgrade with your grid operator. We always recommend having the connection done by a certified installer, which is safer and important for your insurance. You can arrange installation with us in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany.
Why does a MID meter matter for the Kia EV3 Standard Range?
A MID meter records your charging consumption accurately and reliably. From 2026, private drivers in the Netherlands can earn back up to 500 euros per year with such a meter, but that scheme applies in the Netherlands only. For business drivers a MID meter is also needed to reimburse charging sessions. In our view a MID meter is no longer a luxury, just a smart choice.
