Honda EV charger: which model suits your car?

Every electric Honda charges at home at a different speed. The Honda e and e Advance charge at 6.6 kW, while the newer e:Ny1 reaches up to 11 kW at home. That difference decides which EV charger fits your car best. At Wallbox Discounter you find a dedicated page for each Honda model, with the exact charging times and clear advice. Below you see at a glance which charging power belongs to each model.

Which EV charger suits a Honda?

Most Hondas charge at home at up to 6.6 kW. An 11 kW EV charger will not make these cars charge faster, but it is a smart choice if you want a future-proof charger or plan to drive a quicker EV later. On a single-phase connection most Hondas reach their full 6.6 kW. Only the e:Ny1 charges at around 7.4 kW on single phase, and it uses the full 11 kW with a three-phase connection in your meter cupboard.

It is worth choosing a charger with a built-in MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records your charging accurately. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn back around 10 cents per kWh charged at home, but a calibrated meter is required for that. Browse all 11 kW EV chargers or the 22 kW EV chargers in our range. We always recommend having the connection made by a certified installer, which is safer and important for your insurance. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, in Germany through a free quotation.

Frequently asked questions about Honda EV chargers

What charging power do most Hondas have?

The Honda e, e Advance and the Clarity models charge at home at up to 6.6 kW. The newer e:Ny1 supports 11 kW AC, but only reaches that with a three-phase connection. On a standard single-phase connection you charge the e:Ny1 at around 7.4 kW; the other Hondas also charge at their maximum 6.6 kW on single phase. You find the exact charging power and time for your model on its own page.

Does a Honda need a Type 2 charger?

Current Hondas with a Type 2 connection charge at home through the fixed cable or socket of the EV charger. You mainly need a separate Type 2 charging cable if you want to charge at a public charging point on the road. On your Honda's model page you read which plug type and which charger suit it best.
