Polestar 4 Long Range EV charger: which one fits best?
The Polestar 4 Long Range charges at home with 11 kW alternating current (AC) as standard, over a three-phase connection. A 22 kW onboard charger is available through the Plus pack, but standard it stays 11 kW. With that 11 kW you refill the 94 kWh battery overnight. Which EV charger fits the Polestar 4 Long Range?
The Polestar 4 Long Range charges at 11 kW AC as standard. So an 11 kW EV charger is the logical choice for home. A heavier charger will not charge this car faster, unless you have the optional 22 kW onboard charger. If you do, our 22 kW EV chargers use that extra speed.

If several appliances run at the same time, a charger with dynamic load balancing keeps your connection from overloading. It adjusts the power automatically. How long does the Polestar 4 Long Range take to charge?
The maths is simple. The 94 kWh battery divided by 11 kW comes to about 8.5 hours for a full charge (0 to 100%). At home you rarely charge from empty to full, so a night on the charger is plenty for daily use. With the optional 22 kW onboard charger and a heavy connection at home, that time drops to about 4.3 hours. On the road the Polestar 4 charges with direct current (DC) at up to 200 kW at a fast-charging station.
Single Motor or Dual Motor: does it change the charging?
For your charging choice, no. Both versions have the same 94 kWh battery, the same 11 kW standard onboard charger and the same Type 2 connector. The difference is range: the Single Motor reaches up to 610 km WLTP, the Dual Motor up to 590 km. The charger you pick is identical for both. You only need a separate Type 2 charging cable when you also want to charge at a public point on the road.

Can the Polestar 4 Long Range feed power back?
Yes, the Polestar 4 supports V2L (Vehicle to Load), which lets you power devices from the car. Feeding power back to your home or the grid needs a suitable bidirectional charger and the right software from the carmaker.
Do I need a three-phase connection?
For the full 11 kW, yes. An 11 kW charger works over three phases (3x16 amps). On a single-phase connection at home you charge at up to 7.4 kW. A smart charger with load balancing adjusts the power to what your meter box can handle, so you never overload the circuit.
