Mercedes-Benz EQS EV charger: overview by version
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the brand's luxury electric sedan. Its usable battery holds around 108 kWh, one of the largest in this class. At home it charges at 11 kW on alternating current as standard. Some versions add a 22 kW onboard charger as a factory option. With a battery this big, that makes a real difference to your charging time. For the Mercedes-Benz EQS we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.
That covers the standard car. Without the optional 22 kW onboard charger, a faster charger adds nothing.

11 kW or 22 kW charging for your EQS?
Every EQS charges at 11 kW as standard, through a three-phase connection. Three-phase means the car uses three phases of your home supply at once. At that speed the large battery is full again in about ten hours. That is comfortable for an overnight charge.
Does your EQS have the optional 22 kW onboard charger? Then the charging time roughly halves to five hours. That helps if you top up during the day, or if your energy contract has short off-peak windows. The 22 kW onboard charger varies by version and model year, so check your vehicle papers.

Which EV charger suits the Mercedes-Benz EQS?
Start with the charging power your car actually uses. That is 11 kW as standard and 22 kW with the factory option. The EQS uses a Type 2 connector, the European standard for home charging. From there, two features decide the rest.
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter built into the charger. Because it sits in the charger, your charging use stays separate from your household use. And because the meter is certified, that reading is legally valid. We stock EV chargers with a MID meter at both 11 kW and 22 kW.
App control is the second feature that matters here. It lets you follow every session and start charging when your rate is low. Our EV chargers with an app cover both power levels. Charging at home overnight is the normal pattern for a car like this, so our home EV chargers are an easy starting point.
How long does the Mercedes-Benz EQS take to charge?
With around 108 kWh usable, the sum is simple. Divide 108 kWh by 11 kW and you get about ten hours. With the optional 22 kW onboard charger you divide by 22 and land at about five hours. On the road the EQS takes roughly 200 kW from a direct current (DC) fast charger. That brings the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour.

Do you drive a different electric Mercedes? We also have charging advice for the brand's luxury MPV:
Always have the connection in your fuse box made by a qualified electrician. That is safer, and it matters for your insurance. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. We ship worldwide, but installation is limited to those three countries.
Frequently asked questions about the Mercedes-Benz EQS
Can the Mercedes EQS charge at 22 kW?
Mercedes offers a 22 kW onboard charger for the EQS as an option, which is unusual for an EV. Without that option you charge at the standard 11 kW. Even on a 22 kW charger, the car then never draws more than 11 kW. So check your vehicle specifications first to see which onboard charger is fitted.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
A MID meter records every session on a certified counter inside the charger. So you see exactly what charging costs you, separate from the rest of your electricity use, on a reading that holds up. Charging a battery this large, that is a difference you notice on the bill. We carry chargers with and without the meter, at 11 kW and at 22 kW.
