Lexus EV charger: which model suits your car?
If you drive an electric Lexus, the best way to charge at home is with your own charger. The two Lexus models we have charging pages for, the RZ 450e and the UX 300e, both charge at 6.6 kW of alternating current as standard, and the RZ 450e was also available with an optional 11 kW onboard charger. Below you will find the charging power per model and a page with specific advice for each.

Which EV charger suits a Lexus?
Both Lexus models charge at 6.6 kW at home. That is alternating current through your own connection, in other words AC charging. An 11 kW charger is still the smarter buy: it is compatible with your Lexus and stays useful if you later move to a car that does charge faster. An RZ 450e with the optional 11 kW onboard charger uses that full power straight away. Neither the RZ 450e nor the UX 300e takes 22 kW, so that step up only makes sense if you expect a faster-charging car later.
Choose a charger with a MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records your charging precisely. You need those certified readings whenever you have to prove your charging to someone else, an employer, a lease company, a landlord or an owners' association, because without them each of those settlements is only an estimate. In the Netherlands there is an extra reason: from 2026 private drivers can earn back up to 500 euros a year through their energy supplier, but only with a certified meter, and that scheme applies in the Netherlands only. Do I need a charger with a MID meter?

Is installation by a qualified electrician compulsory for a Lexus charger?
In the Netherlands it is not a legal requirement, but rules differ from country to country: in Germany, for example, every charger must be registered with the grid operator before it is connected. We strongly recommend a qualified electrician either way, because a properly made connection is safer and important for your insurance.
