Citroën e-Jumpy EV charger: which one fits best?

The electric Citroën e-Jumpy charges at home through a Type 2 port. Its on-board charger sets the ceiling. The three-phase version draws up to 11 kW, which means your home connection feeds the van over three phases at once. A heavier wallbox will not push it past that. Citroën builds its electric vans and cars on several platforms, so charging speed varies from model to model. To check yours, choose your Citroën and see its charging data.

For the Citroën e-Jumpy we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Check which on-board charger your van left the factory with. Not every version has the three-phase one; some charge over a single phase instead. On those a three-phase 11 kW wallbox delivers only 3.7 kW, because the van uses one phase of 16 A. A 7.4 kW EV charger is then the faster choice.

Charging specifications of the Citroën e-Jumpy

The e-Jumpy comes with two battery packs. Both charge over the same Type 2 port. The difference sits in capacity, range and charging time.

Which EV charger fits the Citroën e-Jumpy?

An 11 kW charger on a three-phase connection matches the van's ceiling exactly. A 22 kW model charges it no faster, because the on-board charger stops at 11 kW. Two features are worth weighing at this power level.

The first is a built-in MID meter, a certified kWh meter inside the charger itself. Because it sits in the charger, it counts only what the van takes. You see what charging at home costs you, separate from the rest of your household use. The certification is what makes that reading legally valid. We stock chargers with this meter at both 11 kW and 22 kW: see our charging stations with a MID meter. On the single-phase 7.4 kW models the meter is not available, so it starts at 11 kW.

The second is load balancing, which earns its place if your fuse box is already busy. The charger keeps measuring what the rest of the house draws and lowers its own power to match. Your main fuse then holds, even when the rest of the house is drawing heavily. Several models in our EV chargers with dynamic load balancing handle this automatically.

The e-Jumpy uses a Type 2 port, the same standard as almost every modern EV charger. For public charging points on the road you need a separate Type 2 charging cable. At home the charger's own fixed connection does the work.

How long does the Citroën e-Jumpy take to charge?

Charging time follows the battery pack. On an 11 kW charger the 50 kWh pack fills in about 5 hours. The 75 kWh pack takes about 7.5 hours. Both figures include charging losses, so they run a little above what the raw sum of battery size and charging power suggests. Plug the van in after a working day and it is full by morning, whichever pack you have.

Most of these vans get their electricity at home, from a wall-mounted charger. Our EV home chargers cover both power levels discussed here, so you can compare them side by side.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Citroën e-Jumpy need a three-phase connection?

For the full 11 kW, yes. An 11 kW charger runs on three phases of 16 A each. On a single-phase connection the van charges slower: 16 A gives 3.7 kW and 32 A gives 7.4 kW. Whether a three-phase connection is available at your address, who arranges it and what it costs all depend on your country. Ask your local grid operator before you buy.

Why does a MID meter matter for the e-Jumpy?

A MID meter is a certified kWh meter built into the charger. It records exactly how much electricity the van takes, separate from your household use. That gives you a reliable figure for what charging costs you. Because the meter is certified, that reading also holds up as an official measurement.

Should an electrician install the charger?

We always recommend having the connection made by a qualified electrician. It is safer and it matters for your insurance. Wallbox Discounter arranges installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, and nowhere else. In Germany it runs through a free quote instead of a booking. Outside those three countries you arrange an installer yourself: we ship worldwide, but we do not install worldwide.
