The Lucid Air Pure needs a Mennekes type 2 plug and the car has a maximum AC charging capacity of 22 kW. This means that your car with a wallbox for at home will never charge faster than that. In addition, the car has an usable battery capacity of 88 kWh.

Of course, it is also possible that you do not want to use a wallbox but a mobile wallbox or a wallbox with a lower charging capacity. That is why you will find here all the important charging information about the Lucid Air Pure.

The Lucid Air Pure has a mennekes connection, so a type 2 ev charging cable is required. The car has a 3-phase 22 kW charging capacity. It is therefore only possible to use a phase 3 ev charging cable of 22 KW if you want to charge 22 kW.

Wallbox for Lucid Air Pure

The electric Lucid Air Pure has a maximum charging power of 22 kW with an usable battery capacity of 88 kWh. This means that charging via a wallbox is advisable. A number of things are useful to keep in mind while making your choice. A wallbox with a faster charging capacity does not exist, but a wallbox with a lighter capacity does. It can be useful, for example, when the fuse box is not suitable for heavy charging. The wallbox will never charge heavier than what it is made for. Wallboxes have 4 charging capacities, provided that these cannot be adjusted yourself:

3.7 kW wallbox (1 phase of 16A): will charge a maximum of 3.7 kW for this car.
7.4 kW wallbox (1 phase of 32A): will charge a maximum of 7.4 kW for this car.
11 kW wallbox (3 phases of 16A): will charge a maximum of 11 kW for this car.
22 kW wallbox (3 phases of 32A) : will charge a maximum of 22 kW for this car

Fuse box connection for the wallbox
Choosing the best wallbox for your Lucid Air Pure depends not only on the possibilities of the car but also for a large part of the fuse box connection. As you could read the Lucid Air Pure can use the fastest wallbox made for home use. It therefore needs a 3 phase connection of 32A. Please take in account that most houses don’t have that connection and if you do, please notice that 22 KW is a lot of power. A wallbox with manual or dynamic load balancing is strongly recommended. If you don’t have a 3 phase connection yet, but you will get it in the future. You can still buy a 3 phase wallbox and just connect 1 phase so you can still charge your car in the meantime.

If you have a 1 phase connection, you cannot charge the maximum charging capacity of 22 kW. You can then choose from a wallbox with a 3.7 or 7.4 kW charging speed. A 3.7 kW charging speed is very low and is not advisable. A 7.4 kW charging capacity is already better, but requires so much of your 1 phase connection in your fuse box that we advise you to choose a smart wallbox. This can be a wallbox with manual or dynamic load balancing. Mobile wallbox for Lucid Air Pure

With a mobile wallbox (also called portable ev charger), you can charge your hybrid or electric car through a normal socket at home. So is the Lucid Air Pure. Sockets at home have a power of about 220 volt , depending on your country. A mobile wallbox is equipped in such a way that it can be connected to that power grid.

For your Lucid Air Pure you need to have a Type 2 mobile wallbox. Of course, charging at home via the socket is less fast, but it can certainly be sufficient for hybrid or electric cars with a smaller battery. A mobile wallbox can usually charge 2.3 or 3.7 kW  (10 or 16A). Due to the high charging speed of the Lucid Air Pure, we recommend using a portable ev charger mainly as a backup or as an emergency solution.
