The BMW iX M60 is the most powerful iX, with a 111.5 kWh battery and a dual-motor drivetrain of 455 kW. That large battery decides what you need at home. As standard the car charges at 11 kW, which fills it overnight in about eleven hours. An 11 kW charger is therefore the match for most drivers. Order the optional 22 kW on-board charger and that drops to about six hours, provided your supply can carry it.

Which EV charger suits the BMW iX M60?
Start with your own supply, because that decides more here than the car does. On a standard three-phase connection you charge at 11 kW and the iX M60 is full after a night. The 22 kW option only pays off with a 3 x 32 A supply. Few cars can genuinely use that much at home, and the iX M60 is one of them. A 22 kW charger asks a lot of a fuse box. Have a qualified electrician check your supply first.
With a battery this size, two features earn their place. A MID-certified kWh meter records your charging separately from the rest of your household use. The second is control over a long charging session. An EV charger with an app lets you place those eleven hours in the cheapest window of the night.
An EV charger with dynamic load balancing matters more at this power than at any lower one. Load balancing means the charger keeps measuring what your fuse box has left. How long does the BMW iX M60 take to charge?
With an 11 kW charger you fill the battery in roughly eleven hours, which fits inside a night. A 22 kW charger brings that down to about six hours. Both figures include charging losses, so they run longer than the battery capacity divided by the charging power.
On the road the iX M60 takes up to 195 kW from a CCS rapid charger. That fills it from 10 to 80 per cent in about half an hour. For daily use at home 11 kW is plenty. The 22 kW option mainly helps if you top up between trips during the day.
