BYD EV charger: which model fits your car?
BYD sells several fully electric models, from the compact Dolphin to the roomy Tang. The models on this page all use the brand's own Blade battery, built on LFP chemistry, a battery type known for its long life.
Which charger suits your BYD depends on the maximum AC charging power of your model. AC stands for alternating current, the type your home socket delivers. That figure differs per version. Three-phase means the charger uses all three power wires in your fuse box, single-phase uses one. Most BYD cars charge at up to 11 kW at home, but some stay below that.

Which EV charger fits a BYD?
Most BYD models charge at up to 11 kW on a three-phase connection. That covers the Atto 3, the Seal versions, the Dolphin 60.4 kWh and the Tang. For those cars our 11 kW EV chargers use the full capacity of the on-board charger, the converter inside the car that sets its home charging limit. The chargers made for a home connection are grouped under our home EV chargers.
Two models sit lower. The Dolphin 44.9 kWh takes 7.4 kW on one phase and the Han takes 6.6 kW. Neither reaches 11 kW. For a car that charges on one phase, an 11 kW unit brings no benefit today. It supplies 16 A per phase, so such a car falls back to 3.7 kW. Our 7.4 kW EV chargers match that class instead, unless you expect a three-phase car in the household later.
Our 22 kW EV chargers exist for cars with a heavier on-board charger. No BYD in the table above takes more than 11 kW on alternating current. A 22 kW unit therefore adds no speed here. It only makes sense if a future car in your household needs it.
A MID meter is a calibrated kWh meter built into the charger. It records your car charging separately from the rest of your household use, so you know what it costs. A MID meter option starts at 11 kW three-phase. Below that power there is no calibrated meter, so the Dolphin 44.9 kWh and the Han fall outside it.
We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. We do not install anywhere else. We ship almost our entire range worldwide, but installation stays within those three countries.

Between 6.6 kW and 11 kW, depending on the version. The Atto 3, the Seal versions, the Dolphin 60.4 kWh and the Tang reach the 11 kW ceiling. The Dolphin 44.9 kWh and the Han sit below it. Your own model page names the exact figure.
Does a BYD have a type 2 connector?
Yes, every BYD model we cover has a type 2 connector for home charging. Our chargers use the same standard. You need a type 2 charging cable if your charger has a socket rather than a fixed cable. At a public charging point you need one anyway.
