Ford Mustang Mach-E SR EV charger: which one fits best?
The Ford Mustang Mach-E SR, the Standard Range with the LFP battery, charges at up to 11 kW at home. That single figure decides your choice. A charger with more power adds nothing here, because the car never draws more than 11 kW. Want to see the other versions first? For the Ford Mustang Mach-E SR we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger suits the Ford Mustang Mach-E SR?
The Mach-E SR takes 11 kW on three phases. An 11 kW charger therefore gives you everything the car can use. A 22 kW model charges no faster here, because the ceiling sits in the car and not on the wall. Three phases simply means your home draws on three power circuits at once instead of one.
Beyond the power rating, three features are worth weighing up. A charger with a MID meter carries a certified kWh meter. That shows you exactly what charging at home costs, separately from the rest of your household use. In our range this feature starts at 11 kW, so it fits the Mach-E SR without any compromise.
Dynamic load balancing means the charger watches how much power your fuse box has spare. It then lowers the charging speed when the rest of your home needs the power, so your main fuse stays within its limit. A charger with an app lets you set charging times and follow a session from your phone.
A wall-mounted charger on the driveway or in the garage is the usual setup at home. Our range of home EV chargers collects those in one place.
We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. In Germany that runs through a free quotation instead of a bookable product. We ship worldwide, but outside those three countries we do not install. Wherever you live, have the connection made by a qualified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance.
How long does the Ford Mustang Mach-E SR take to charge?
The sum is straightforward. Divide 72 kWh of usable battery by 11 kW and a full charge takes roughly 6.5 hours. Charging is never quite that efficient, so reckon on close to 8 hours from empty to full. In practice you rarely arrive empty. Plug in at night with 20 percent left and the car is ready well before morning. On the road a CCS fast charger is far quicker, but at home 11 kW stays the number that counts.
On a single-phase connection the picture changes. At 16 amps the Mach-E SR charges at 3.7 kW, and at 32 amps it reaches 7.4 kW. The car uses a Type 2 socket at home, like most modern chargers. You only need a separate Type 2 charging cable for public charging points that have no cable attached.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Ford Mustang Mach-E SR need a three-phase connection?
For the full 11 kW, yes. The Mach-E SR charges on three phases at 16 amps each. On a single-phase connection you get 3.7 kW at 16 amps or 7.4 kW at 32 amps. A full charge then takes considerably longer. Upgrading to three phases runs through your local grid or network operator, and the rules for that differ per country.
Does a faster charger help the Mach-E SR?
No. The onboard charger of the Mach-E SR accepts 11 kW of alternating current at most. A 22 kW unit therefore charges this version no faster, because the car sets the ceiling. Faster charging at home would need a car with a stronger onboard charger, not a stronger charger on the wall.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
You do not have to, but it is worth thinking about. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter built into the charger. It records your charging separately from the rest of your household use, so you see exactly what it costs. Every charger in our range that carries one is an 11 kW model or higher, so the Mach-E SR loses nothing by choosing one.
