How long does the Kia EV9 76.1 kWh RWD take to charge?
With an 11 kW charger, count on about 7 hours from nearly empty to full. The maths is simple: the usable 73 kWh divided by 11 kW comes to just under 7 hours. If you only have a single-phase connection at home, the power drops to 3.7 kW and a full charge takes considerably longer. On the road the EV9 charges very fast thanks to its 800V system. At a DC fast charger it reaches up to around 210 kW. The Kia EV9 uses a Type 2 inlet, like most modern chargers. A matching Type 2 charging cable is mainly useful if you want to charge elsewhere at a socket charger.

Does the Kia EV9 76.1 kWh RWD need a three-phase connection?
For the full 11 kW, yes. With a three-phase 3x16A connection the EV9 charges at home at full power. On single phase you get at most 3.7 kW, whatever charger you use. We recommend having the connection made by a certified installer, which is safer and important for your insurance. You can order your charger including installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany.
