Lucid Air Grand Touring EV charger: which one fits best?
The Lucid Air Grand Touring has an onboard charger that handles up to 22 kW at home. It uses a three-phase connection with a Type 2 plug. Which EV charger suits the Lucid Air Grand Touring?
The Grand Touring charges at up to 22 kW on alternating current. A three-phase charger that delivers that power gets the most out of it. With enough capacity in your meter box, you refill the big battery in about half a night. Pick a charger with load balancing. This feature measures how much power is free in your meter box. It then adjusts the charging speed to match, so your fuses do not trip.
Almost every charger we recommend has a built-in MID meter. That is a certified kWh meter that records exactly how much you charge. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, private drivers can earn money back on home charging. Through their energy supplier they get up to 500 euro per year, but only with such a certified meter. A charger without a MID meter leaves that saving on the table.

How long does the Lucid Air Grand Touring take to charge?
You work out the charging time by dividing the battery size by the charging power. With a 22 kW wallbox you charge about 112 kWh in roughly 5 hours, from nearly empty to full. On an 11 kW charger that takes about 10 hours, so a bit more than a night. For most drivers, topping up daily is plenty: a few hours on the charger already adds hundreds of kilometres of range.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Lucid Air Grand Touring need a three-phase connection?
To use the full 22 kW you need a three-phase connection. With single-phase at home the charging power is lower: a single-phase connection delivers up to about 7.4 kW. An electrician can advise whether upgrading to three-phase is worth it for your situation.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
For most drivers, yes. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter, and it is what lets you claim back part of your home charging costs. From 2026 in the Netherlands only, that can be up to 500 euro per year through your energy supplier. We always recommend having the connection done by a qualified electrician, which is safer and important for your insurance.
