Why Easee is a strong choice for your EV charger

Easee was founded in Norway in 2018 and quickly developed into one of the best-known brands in the European market. Its strength lies in the design: a compact housing with a touch button, light strip and RFID reader in one. This keeps the Easee EV charger visually calm and unobtrusive on the wall, even when installed outdoors.

Every model includes smart features as standard. You connect the charger via Wi-Fi or 4G and control it through the Easee app. In the app, you can schedule charging sessions, monitor live consumption, manage access via RFID and adjust the charging power. No additional modules or subscriptions are required to use this basic package.

Specs and filters for choosing an Easee charger

The choice between the Easee models depends on a few specific points. Below you will find the filter options that you can select on this page, so you can quickly narrow down the right model.

  • Connector type: all Easee EV chargers have a Type 2 socket. This means you can choose the charging cable that suits your vehicle.
  • Number of phases: Easee is suitable for 3-phase charging. With a single-phase connection, you charge up to 7.4 kW; with 3-phase, up to 22 kW.
  • Charging power: 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW or 22 kW. The actual charging speed depends on your electrical cabinet and your vehicle.
  • Options: RFID locking, P1 port, dynamic load balancing, app control, suitable for charging cards and MID-certified kWh meter (Charge Max and Charge Pro only).

Easee EV charger with dynamic load balancing

An Easee EV charger can automatically measure the available power in your electrical cabinet and adjust the charging power accordingly. For this, you need the Easee Equalizer: a small module that is installed in the electrical cabinet. The result: you charge as quickly as possible, without tripping the main fuse when the washing machine, oven and dishwasher are running at the same time.

Do you have solar panels? Then the Equalizer connects Easee to your solar generation. Your car automatically charges using electricity you produce yourself and switches back to grid power when there is temporarily less sun. You can find more technical information on the page about load balancing in EV chargers.

Easee EV charger with MID meter for ERE certificates

With ERE certificates, you can earn money back in the Netherlands for every kWh you charge at home. This scheme has been running since 1 January 2026, with retroactive effect from that date. Please note: ERE registration is only supported in the Netherlands. To participate, your charger must have a MID-certified kWh meter. For Easee, these are the Charge Max and the Charge Pro. Both models measure your charging sessions in a legally valid way, allowing them to be submitted to an authorised booking service provider.

The Charge Pro also supports ISO 15118, the modern communication standard between vehicle and EV charger. This enables Plug & Charge: the charger automatically recognises your vehicle and starts the session without requiring a charging card or app. For business reimbursement, the session is directly linked to the correct account.

On the overview page Easee EV chargers with MID meter, you can view both models side by side. Not sure whether to choose Easee or another brand with MID meter? Then compare the wider range on the EV charger with MID meter page.

Who is an Easee EV charger suitable for?

Easee is a good fit for several target groups. Which model you choose depends on how you charge and what you need.

  • Private users with their own driveway: the Charge Up or Charge Core is usually sufficient. Fast enough for daily use and equipped with all basic smart functions.
  • Households with solar panels: combine Easee with the Equalizer to charge specifically using your own electricity.
  • Private users in the Netherlands who want to earn through ERE: choose the Charge Max. The MID meter makes the charger suitable for certificates.
  • Businesses, apartment associations and commercial locations: the Charge Pro is built for setups with multiple charging points and simultaneous use. Also view our range of home EV chargers for a broader orientation.

Installation of an Easee EV charger

An Easee EV charger is installed in four steps according to the manufacturer’s manual: mounting the backplate to the wall, connecting the wiring, clicking the wallbox into place and closing the cover. Many households choose installation by a certified installer, as connection to a Type B residual-current circuit breaker and any adjustments to the electrical cabinet require professional work.

We are happy to arrange the installation for you, including prior advice on the electrical cabinet and the correct circuit. View the options on the page EV charger including installation.

Frequently asked questions about the Easee EV charger

What is the difference between Charge Up and Charge Core?

The Charge Up is the entry-level model with the basic smart functions. The Charge Core adds extra options for management and expandability. Both charge up to 22 kW on a 3-phase connection and use the same app. In addition, the Charge Core supports Power Sharing with an unlimited number of charging points on one connection, while the Charge Up is limited to a maximum of three linked chargers.

Which Easee do I need for ERE certificates?

For ERE certificates, you need an EV charger with a MID-certified kWh meter. Please note: ERE registration is only supported in the Netherlands. For Easee, the suitable models are the Charge Max and the Charge Pro. Other Easee models do register your consumption, but they are not legally certified for reimbursement or settlement.

Can I combine my Easee with solar panels?

Yes, in combination with the Easee Equalizer, your car preferably charges using electricity from your own solar panels. This helps you make the most of your own generation and only switch back to grid power when there is temporarily less sun.

Can Easee be sold in the Netherlands again?

Yes. The earlier sales ban related to the internal residual-current protection has been resolved and the current Easee models meet the Dutch requirements. You can order them from us as usual.
