Solar Panels on Roof Tiles – What Do You Need to Get Started?
On our website, we offer two different mounting kits for solar panels on roof tiles: the Horizontal Roof Tile Solar Panel Mounting Kit and the Vertical Roof Tile Solar Panel Mounting Kit. These mounting rails are suitable for solar panels up to 35 mm thick and are available for systems with up to 10 solar panels.
The mounting kit you need depends on several factors and will vary for each situation. Potential obstacles and the dimensions of your roof are often the most important aspects to consider.
The mounting rails are made from high-quality materials and measure 2 x 200 cm. A set for one solar panel includes 4 roof hooks, 4 bolt sets for securing the roof hooks, 4 end clamps, and a grounding clamp. In total, we offer 10 different sets, each with varying contents. Installing Solar Panels on Roof Tiles – What Steps Are Required?
When installing solar panels on roof tiles, safety is just as important as efficiency. You want to make sure everything is securely mounted and that no unsafe situations arise. The section below explains how to install solar panel mounting systems on roof tiles safely and reliably.
First, make sure you have a sturdy and reliable ladder. Your personal safety always comes first. After that, the installation of solar panel mounting on a pitched roof can be divided into the following five steps:
Installing the Roof Hooks
Once you have safely reached the roof, you can begin installing the roof hooks. Determine their position based on where you want the solar panels to be placed. Maintain a maximum spacing of 120–140 cm to prevent the hooks from bending. Secure the hooks firmly and ensure they fit properly within the contour of the roof tile.
Installing the Mounting Rails
Once the roof hooks are installed, the mounting rails can be attached. If required, the rails can be connected using rail connectors. The rails are then secured to the roof hooks using the supplied bolt sets.
Mounting Options (Horizontal or Vertical)
With a horizontal (portrait) installation, the hooks are positioned horizontally and aligned accordingly. With a vertical (landscape) installation, the hooks are positioned vertically before being aligned.
Electrical Wiring
The solar panels can be connected to the inverter(s) in advance by connecting the negative terminal to the positive terminal as required by the system configuration. The cabling can then be routed through a small opening towards the inverter.
Installing the Solar Panels
Once all mounting rails have been installed, the solar panels can be secured to the rails. This is done using the supplied end clamps. After the panels have been properly secured, the installation of the solar panel mounting system on roof tiles is complete.
