Hyundai EV charger: which model suits your car?
Hyundai builds electric cars that charge quickly at home. The fully electric models all charge at up to 11 kW of alternating current (AC). That includes the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 9, Kona Electric and the compact Inster. The plug-in hybrids charge more slowly. At Wallbox Discounter you find a separate page for every Hyundai, with the exact charging details. That way you know which EV charger fits your version.

Which EV charger suits a Hyundai?
Do you drive a fully electric Hyundai? Then you get the most out of an 11 kW EV charger. That charges your Ioniq, Kona or Inster at full power, provided your home has a three-phase connection (three power circuits, needed for the full 11 kW). With a single-phase connection, over one circuit, you usually charge at up to 3.7 kW, depending on the fuse in your meter box. An 11 kW charger still makes sense then, because you can scale up later. Do you drive a plug-in hybrid such as the Tucson or Santa Fe? Then a lighter charger is often enough, since the battery is smaller and the charging power lower.
A built-in MID meter is a certified kWh meter that records your charging precisely. It shows exactly what charging at home costs, separate from the rest of your household electricity. That helps for your own insight, or to bill an employer or lease company. At 11 kW the choice is still limited. Our chargers with a MID meter are mainly available from 22 kW upwards.
Browse all 11 kW EV chargers, or the 22 kW EV chargers if you want room to scale up. Not sure about your meter box? We recommend having the connection done by a qualified electrician. Wallbox Discounter arranges installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, with a free quotation for Germany. That is safer and important for your insurance.

Frequently asked questions about Hyundai EV chargers
What charging power do most Hyundai cars have?
The fully electric Hyundai models charge at home with up to 11 kW of alternating current. This includes the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 9, Kona Electric and Inster. The plug-in hybrids charge more slowly: the Tucson PHEV reaches 7.2 kW and the Santa Fe PHEV 3.3 kW. On each model page you find the exact charging details and charging times per version.
Do I need an 11 kW or 22 kW charger for my Hyundai?
No Hyundai charges at home faster than 11 kW, so an 11 kW charger uses your car to the full. A 22 kW charger does not charge your Hyundai any faster. It can still be handy if you later drive a car with higher charging power, or want a future-proof installation. For most Hyundai drivers an 11 kW charger is the smart choice.
