Which EV charger suits the Skoda Enyaq iV RS?

Even a single-phase 32 amp charger tops out at 7.4 kW. Filling a 77 kWh battery then takes twelve hours or more, so it is worth asking your electrician about three phases.
A built-in MID meter is worth asking for. That is a certified kWh meter. It logs your charging separately from the rest of the house. So you know exactly what driving this car costs you at home. Be aware that the choice is narrow at 11 kW. In our range the MID meter is a three-phase feature. Only a small part of our charging stations with MID meter covers 11 kW; the rest are 22 kW units.
The second feature that earns its place on a 77 kWh battery is dynamic load balancing. The charger measures what your meter box has to spare and adjusts the power as it goes. How long does the Skoda Enyaq iV RS take to charge?
With a usable battery of 77 kWh and 11 kW going in, a full charge takes about 7 hours on paper. In practice, count on roughly 8 hours 15 minutes, because the last stretch slows down and some energy is lost as heat. Plug the Enyaq iV RS in for the evening and it is full by morning.
Away from home you charge on direct current at up to 175 kW. A short stop then adds a serious amount of range.

Does the Skoda Enyaq iV RS charge faster than the other Enyaq versions?
Not at home. Despite the sporty dual-motor drivetrain, the Enyaq iV RS charges on alternating current at 11 kW. The iV 60 and iV 80 do the same. Only the entry-level iV 50 charges more slowly, at 7.2 kW. On a rapid charger the RS does take direct current at up to 175 kW.
Does the Skoda Enyaq iV RS need a three-phase connection?
To get the full 11 kW at home, yes: you need three phases at 16 amps each. With a single-phase connection you charge more slowly and a full battery takes far longer. A qualified electrician can tell you what your meter box allows and what upgrading would involve.
Why does a MID meter matter for the Enyaq iV RS?
A MID certified kWh meter records your charging accurately and separately from your household use. That tells you what a kilometre in this car actually costs at home. At 11 kW the choice is narrow, so check the specification before you order.
