The eDELIVER 3 charges at home at a maximum of 7.4 kW on 1 phase. A 7.4 kW EV charger therefore provides exactly the amount of power the van can accept. A higher charging capacity will not shorten the charging time, because the vehicle itself determines the maximum. How long does it take to charge the Maxus eDELIVER 3?

You can estimate the charging time by dividing the battery capacity by the charging power. With the usable 53 kWh battery and a 7.4 kW EV charger, a full charge takes just over seven hours. This comfortably fits into an overnight charging session. If you need to recharge quickly while travelling, the eDELIVER 3 can charge to 80 percent at a DC fast charger in approximately 45 minutes. For daily use, simply connect the van in the evening and it will be ready to drive the following morning.

Consider your electrical connection and load balancing

Because the eDELIVER 3 charges on 1 phase, a 7.4 kW EV charger draws 32 amps from that single phase. If other high-power appliances such as a heat pump or electrical machinery are being used at the same time, an EV charger with dynamic load balancing is advisable. It automatically adjusts the charging power to the available electrical capacity and helps prevent the main fuse from tripping. We always recommend having the connection installed by a certified installer. This is safer and may also be important for your insurance coverage. You will also need a suitable Type 2 charging cable that supports at least 7.4 kW.

Does the recommended EV charger for the Maxus eDELIVER 3 have a MID meter?

The Easee Charge Up and Besen 7.4 kW do not have an integrated MID meter. If you need certified consumption measurement for a company or lease vehicle, choose an EV charger with an integrated MID-certified energy meter instead. This allows charging consumption to be recorded accurately and reimbursed transparently by an employer. In the Netherlands, a MID meter may also be required for ERE registration. The ERE scheme is only available in the Netherlands.

Can the Maxus eDELIVER 3 charge faster with an 11 or 22 kW EV charger?

No. The eDELIVER 3 charges on 1 phase at a maximum of 7.4 kW. An 11 or 22 kW EV charger will therefore not shorten the charging time, because the vehicle’s onboard charger limits the maximum charging power. A 7.4 kW EV charger is sufficient to use the full charging capacity of the van.

Which charging connector does the Maxus eDELIVER 3 need?
