Lynk & Co 01 EV charger: which one fits best?

The Lynk & Co 01 is a plug-in hybrid that charges at home at up to 3.7 kW. It does that over a single phase, meaning the current comes in over one wire, through a Type 2 connection. That sounds modest, and it is exactly why this car needs no heavy charger. A simple single-phase unit already charges the 01 at full power.

For the Lynk & Co 01 we recommend a charger from our 7.4 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger fits the Lynk & Co 01?

The 01 charges at a maximum of 3.7 kW on one phase. An 11 kW or 22 kW charger therefore adds nothing here, because the car itself caps what it takes. A single-phase charger from the 7.4 kW class is the logical choice. It charges the 01 at full power and is ready for a faster EV later.

Pick a charger with a built-in MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records exactly how much you charge. From 2026, private drivers in the Netherlands earn back up to 500 euros a year through their energy supplier. That only works with a certified meter, and the scheme runs in the Netherlands only. Elsewhere the meter still pays off. It separates the car from the rest of your household, and your employer accepts the readings.

Start with the 7.4 kW EV chargers. Do you have solar panels? A solar EV charger then makes sense, because it charges on the power you generate yourself. Do check that the model you pick also has a certified meter, because not every solar charger has one.

You can filter on the certified meter directly in the chargers with a MID meter. For a first installation without complications, the home chargers are the simplest starting point.

We always advise having the connection made by a certified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance. In the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium you order the charger including installation. For Germany you request a free quotation first. We ship worldwide, but in other countries you arrange a local electrician yourself.

How long does the Lynk & Co 01 take to charge?

The 01 has a 17.6 kWh battery, of which 14.1 kWh is usable. On a 3.7 kW charger a full charge takes about 4 hours, charging losses included. Plug the car in during the evening and you drive off in the morning with roughly 70 electric kilometres. The 01 does not support DC fast charging. Charging at home or at an AC point is the norm for this car.

The 01 uses a Type 2 connection, like most modern chargers. You only need a separate type 2 charging cable if you want to charge away from home. At home you charge through the fixed connection of the charger.

Other versions and Lynk & Co models

The Lynk & Co 01 comes with one charging setup: the plug-in hybrid with the 3.7 kW on-board charger. Other models in the range use different charging powers, and the overview of all Lynk & Co EV chargers lists them together.

Frequently asked questions about the Lynk & Co 01

Can the Lynk & Co 01 fast charge?

No, the 01 does not support DC fast charging. You charge the car at home or at a public AC point at a maximum of 3.7 kW. The battery is small, so a full charge still takes only about 4 hours.

Do I need a charger with a MID meter?

Yes, in almost every case. It is the only way to see exactly what your car used, separately from the rest of your household. In the Netherlands the scheme starting in 2026 also pays back up to 500 euros a year, but only through a certified meter. For business drivers it is the reading an employer or leasing company accepts.

Should I have the charger installed?

We always advise it. A certified electrician checks your fuse box and connects the charger safely, which matters for your insurance. It is not a legal requirement in the Netherlands, but it is the sensible route. In the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium you can order the charger including installation.
