Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh EV charger: which one fits best?
The Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh is a roomy family MPV that charges with a 7.4 kW on-board charger as standard. An 11 kW three-phase on-board charger is available as an option. That maximum decides which EV charger makes sense for you. A charger never charges faster than the car can accept. Our overview of all Peugeot EV chargers covers the other versions and models.
For the Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh we recommend a charger from our 7.4 kW EV chargers.
Not sure which on-board charger your car has? Check the vehicle documents or the charging display in the car. With the optional 11 kW on-board charger, an 11 kW EV charger on a three-phase connection gives you that full charging speed. New to home charging? Which EV charger suits the Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh?
Does your e-Rifter have the standard 7.4 kW on-board charger? Then a single-phase 7.4 kW charger gets the most out of it. Does it have the optional 11 kW charger? Choose an 11 kW EV charger on a three-phase connection. Only then do you use that speed. An 11 kW charger does not speed up the standard version, though. It supplies 16 amps per phase, and the single-phase on-board charger uses only one phase. The car then charges at 3.7 kW.
A MID meter is a calibrated kWh meter built into the charger. It records the electricity you charge at home separately from your household consumption, so you know exactly what charging costs. In our range, EV chargers with a MID meter are three-phase models from 11 kW. Our 7.4 kW chargers do not have one.
On an 11 kW MID charger, the standard e-Rifter charges at 3.7 kW. One of our 22 kW EV chargers gives it the full 7.4 kW, but only if your connection supplies 32 amps per phase.
For the 11 kW on-board charger, our range of 11 kW EV chargers covers every three-phase option. The e-Rifter has a Type 2 inlet. With a charger that has a fixed cable, you charge at home without a separate cable. For a socket model or for charging elsewhere, you need a Type 2 charging cable.
How long does it take to charge the Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh?
As a rule of thumb, divide the usable battery of about 46 kWh by the charging power. With the standard 7.4 kW on-board charger, expect a charge time of about 6.5 hours from empty to full. That is well within one night. With the optional 11 kW charger, it takes about 4 hours. Plug the MPV in during the evening and you leave in the morning with a full battery, without any planning.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Peugeot e-Rifter 50 kWh need a three-phase connection?
Only if it has the optional 11 kW on-board charger. That charger uses three phases at 16 amps each. With the standard 7.4 kW charger, a single-phase connection is enough. The car sets the maximum, not the charger.
Why is a MID meter important for the e-Rifter?
A MID meter is a calibrated kWh meter that records your charging consumption accurately. You see exactly how much electricity the e-Rifter uses at home, separate from the rest of the household. That is useful if you want to know precisely what home charging costs you. In our range, MID meters come on three-phase chargers from 11 kW.
Should I have the charger installed?
We always recommend having the connection made by a qualified electrician. That is safer and important for your insurance. Wallbox Discounter arranges the installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. In the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium you book it with your order, in Germany it runs via a free quotation.
