Which EV charger suits the NIO EL7 75 kWh?

How long does the NIO EL7 75 kWh take to charge?

With an 11 kW charger you can work it out roughly as usable battery capacity divided by charging power: 70.5 kWh divided by 11 kW comes to about 7 hours for a full charge, charging losses included. Plug the car in around 23:00 and it is ready the next morning. In practice you rarely charge from 0 to 100 percent, so a daily top-up is usually done in a couple of hours. On the road it goes faster, since the EL7 75 kWh charges considerably quicker at a DC fast charger.

Does the NIO EL7 75 kWh need a three-phase connection?

To reach the full 11 kW at home you need a three-phase connection at 3x16 amps. With single-phase only, the EL7 charges at a maximum of 3.7 kW and a full session takes considerably longer. In the Netherlands and Belgium your grid operator can arrange a three-phase connection; elsewhere, ask your local network operator or an electrician what is possible at your address.

Why does a MID meter matter for the NIO EL7 75 kWh?

A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that records your charging consumption officially. That certified reading is what you need whenever home-charged electricity has to be accounted for, for instance towards an employer. In the Netherlands it is also required for ERE registration, which pays back up to 500 euro a year, though that scheme is available in the Netherlands only.
