Lucid Air Dream Edition P EV charger: which one fits best?

The Lucid Air Dream Edition P is the Performance version, with dual-motor all-wheel drive and over 1,100 hp. For your charger choice, another number matters more. This car takes the full alternating current (AC) power at home. Its onboard charger handles up to 22 kW AC, while most EVs stop at 11 kW. A 22 kW wallbox is therefore not overkill here. You can compare all versions under our Lucid EV chargers.

For the Lucid Air Dream Edition P we recommend a charger from our 22 kW EV chargers.

Charger ratings can differ per market and model year. Check your vehicle documents or the car display to confirm what your own car accepts.

Which EV charger suits the Lucid Air Dream Edition P?

Because this version handles the full 22 kW AC, a 22 kW wallbox gives you the shortest charging time at home. That does ask something of your connection. A 22 kW charger needs three phases at 32 amps each. Without that, the car simply charges at a lower power.

Several of the 22 kW chargers in our range have a built-in MID meter. That is a certified kWh meter, and it records exactly how much electricity goes into your car. You see what charging at home costs you, separate from the rest of your household use.

Two more features earn their place on a charger this size. Dynamic load balancing lowers the charging power when the rest of the house needs it, so your fuse holds. An EV charger with an app lets you run charging on a cheap night tariff, which suits a battery this large. Both sit in our range of EV home chargers.

We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. We ship worldwide, but installation is limited to those three countries. Wherever you live, we recommend having the connection made by a certified installer. That is safer, and it matters for your insurance.

How long does the Lucid Air Dream Edition P take to charge?

The sum is simple: 118 kWh divided by the charging power gives you the charging time. On a 22 kW wallbox you go from empty to full in about 5.5 hours. A night on the charger is plenty. If your home supports only 11 kW, that stretches to roughly 11 hours. The large battery pack is exactly why the step to 22 kW pays off here. You use the car's full power and are back on the road sooner.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Lucid Air Dream Edition P need a three-phase connection?

For the full 22 kW it does. A 22 kW wallbox asks for a three-phase connection of 32 amps per phase. Without one, the car falls back to a lower charging power, or you pick an 11 kW wallbox instead.

Why does a MID meter matter?

A certified MID meter records exactly how much electricity you put into the car at home. That tells you what charging actually costs you, separate from your other household use. You will find one built into several of the 22 kW chargers in our range.
