The Kia EV9 with the 99.8 kWh battery is a seven-seat SUV with a long range. That large battery decides which charger you need at home. The EV9 charges on alternating current at up to 11 kW. Which EV charger suits the Kia EV9 99.8 kWh?
The EV9 charges at 11 kW at home, so a three-phase charger gets the most out of this car. On a single-phase connection of 32 amps it still draws 7.4 kW. A 16 amp connection halves that to 3.7 kW, which is slow for a battery this size. Look up your own connection before you choose, because it decides how long a full charge takes.
One feature is worth checking: a certified kWh meter, also called a MID meter. It measures the electricity you charge at home separately from the rest of your household use. That way you know exactly what charging costs you, instead of guessing from one household bill. With a battery this large, home charging is a big share of your electricity bill.

The EV9 has a type 2 connector, the same as the chargers themselves. At home you charge through the fixed cable or socket of the unit. To charge elsewhere you need a separate type 2 charging cable.
How long does the Kia EV9 99.8 kWh take to charge?
Work it out from the useable battery: 96.0 kWh divided by 11 kW comes to roughly nine hours. In practice a full charge takes about ten and a half hours. The difference is charging loss, which turns into heat rather than range. Plug in around 22:00 and the car is ready well before morning, even after a long day. For a quick top-up on the road you use a DC rapid charger. Thanks to the 800 V system of the EV9 you go from 10 to 80 percent in about 24 minutes.

For the full 11 kW at home, yes. The EV9 accepts 11 kW on alternating current, and that needs a three-phase connection of 3 x 16 amps. On a single-phase connection of 32 amps the car charges at 7.4 kW. A full charge then takes around 15 hours, so it runs past a single night. Plan for two nights, or move to a three-phase supply.
