Does the Peugeot e-3008 98 kWh Long Range need a three-phase connection?
You need three phases at home to reach the full 11 kW. On a single phase the car charges at 3.7 kW over a 16 A connection and at 7.4 kW over a 32 A one. Both take considerably longer than the three-phase figure. With a battery this large the three-phase connection is worth the trouble, because it takes hours off every full charge.
Why does a MID meter matter for this Peugeot?
A MID meter records your charging separately and to a certified standard. That gives you one honest number for what home charging costs. No unexplained rise in your total household bill. The Long Range battery pushes a lot of kilowatt hours through that meter, so the difference is easy to see.
