Which EV charger suits the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro 4MOTION?
On three phases this ID.4 draws 16 A per phase, which is 11 kW. A 22 kW charger supplies more current, but the car never draws it. An 11 kW charger therefore already uses the full home charging power. Does your home have a single-phase supply? The car then reaches around 7.4 kW, and a charger from our 7.4 kW EV chargers is the match.
Four-wheel drive costs range, so you charge this ID.4 often. Two features matter then. A charger with a MID meter has a certified kWh meter built in, so you see exactly what home charging costs you. It measures the electricity your car takes separately from the rest of the household. With app control you see each session's consumption and start or stop charging from your phone. Our home EV chargers bring together the models built for daily charging at home.
How long does the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro 4MOTION take to charge?
A full charge on an 11 kW charger takes about 8 hours and 15 minutes. That is longer than the battery capacity divided by the charging power. Part of the energy turns into heat in the on-board charger and the cabling, so the practical time runs higher. Plug in during the evening with a quarter of the battery left, and the car stands ready well before morning.
On the road you use a fast charger instead. In model years 2024 and 2025 this ID.4 accepts up to 175 kW from a CCS fast charger, the standard DC connector in Europe. A short stop then adds a useful amount of range.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro 4MOTION need a 22 kW EV charger?
No. This ID.4 charges at a maximum of 11 kW alternating current at home. A 22 kW charger will not make it any faster, because the car caps its three-phase intake at 11 kW. An 11 kW charger uses the full power. It fills the 77 kWh battery in about 8 hours and 15 minutes.
Do I need an EV charger with a MID meter?
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter inside the charger. It records exactly how much electricity your car takes, apart from your household use. So you always know what charging at home costs, per session or per month. Every model with such a meter sits in our MID meter chargers.
Have a qualified electrician connect the charger. That is the safe route and it matters for your insurance. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. Shipping is worldwide.
