Versions of the Hongqi E-HS9
All versions use a Type 2 connection and support the same maximum home charging capacity of 11 kW. The difference lies in the battery: a larger battery provides a longer driving range, but also requires more time to recharge using the same EV charger.

Which EV charger is suitable for the Hongqi E-HS9?
Because every E-HS9 version charges at a maximum of 11 kW at home, a three-phase 11 kW EV charger is the logical choice. Three-phase charging means that the charging capacity is distributed across three phases. If your fuse box has a three-phase connection, the car can use the full 11 kW. A more powerful 22 kW EV charger will not charge this car faster because the vehicle limits the AC charging capacity to 11 kW. If you have a single-phase connection at home, the car will generally charge at a maximum of 3.7 kW, regardless of the maximum capacity of the EV charger.
We recommend choosing an EV charger with an integrated MID meter. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that accurately and verifiably records charging consumption. This is particularly useful when charging costs are reimbursed by an employer, leasing company or your own business. In the Netherlands, a compatible EV charger with a MID meter may also support ERE registration. ERE certificates are only applicable in the Netherlands. With a large-battery vehicle such as the E-HS9, a MID meter also provides a clear overview of actual energy consumption and electricity costs.

How long does it take to charge the Hongqi E-HS9?
Charging time is calculated by dividing the usable battery capacity by the charging capacity. With an 11 kW EV charger, the E-HS9 with an 84 kWh battery charges from almost empty to full in approximately eight hours. The larger 99 and 120 kWh versions take proportionally longer using the same charger because more energy needs to be stored in the battery. Overnight home charging provides more than enough time for every version to be fully charged again the following morning.
The E-HS9 uses a Type 2 connection, just like most modern EV chargers. At home, you can charge using the fixed cable of the EV charger. You only need a separate Type 2 charging cable when charging at a public charging station or an EV charger with a socket.
