Cupra Tavascan Endurance VZ EV charger: which one fits best?
The Cupra Tavascan charges at home on alternating current (AC), with a maximum of 11 kW. That goes for both the Endurance and the VZ version. It also decides which charger makes sense. An 11 kW unit gets everything out of the car, without you paying for capacity you never use. Cupra builds several electric models, each with its own charging power, and our overview of all Cupra EV chargers sets them side by side.
For the Cupra Tavascan Endurance VZ we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger fits the Cupra Tavascan Endurance VZ?
Because the Tavascan charges at up to 11 kW at home, an 11 kW charger is the sensible choice. A heavier 22 kW unit does not charge this car any faster, so you would pay extra for nothing.
Pay attention to a built-in MID meter when you choose. A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that records your charging accurately. Because it sits inside the charger, it measures your car apart from the rest of your household. The certification means you can rely on that reading, down to the kWh. You will find this meter on several of our 11 kW chargers.
Browse all 11 kW EV chargers, or go straight to our EV chargers with a MID meter. A wall-mounted unit charges your car several times faster than an ordinary socket, so our home EV chargers are the easiest entry point. We advise having the connection made by a qualified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance.
How long does the Cupra Tavascan Endurance VZ take to charge?
With an 11 kW charger you charge the 77 kWh battery from empty to full in about 7 hours. That fits inside one night, so you start every morning with a full battery. Do you only have a single-phase supply at home, so one phase of the mains instead of three? The Tavascan then draws 32 A and charges at 7.4 kW. A full charge stretches to roughly 10.5 hours in that case. You need a three-phase supply to get the maximum out of the car.
The Tavascan uses a Type 2 connection. At home you charge straight from the charger itself. Charging somewhere without a fixed cable? Then you need your own Type 2 charging cable.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Cupra Tavascan Endurance VZ charge at 22 kW?
No. At home the Tavascan charges at a maximum of 11 kW on alternating current. That applies to the Endurance and the VZ alike. A 22 kW charger therefore does not charge the car any faster. Fast charging at a DC station is quicker, up to 135 kW. DC stands for direct current, which the fast charger sends straight into the battery without passing through the car's onboard charger.
Why does a MID meter matter for the Cupra Tavascan?
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that tracks exactly how much you charge. It sits inside the charger, so that figure stays separate from your household use. Because it is certified, you can rely on that figure when you have to account for the electricity you used. Not every charger has one, so check the specification before you buy.
