Toyota EV charger: which model suits your car?
The charging power of a Toyota varies a lot per model. The fully electric Toyota bZ4X charges at home at 11 kW on a three phase connection. The Proace Verso charges at 7.4 kW on one phase as standard and at 11 kW on three phase if you choose the optional charger. The plug-in hybrids, such as the Prius and the RAV4, charge more gently at 3.3 to 6.6 kW on one phase. At Wallbox Discounter you will find a separate page with concrete charger advice for every Toyota model.

Every electric and hybrid Toyota uses the Type 2 connector, the European standard. Your real charging power at home depends on three factors: the maximum charging power of your car, the connection in your meter cupboard and the power of your charger. The lowest of the three sets the speed.
Which EV charger suits a Toyota?
Do you drive an electric Toyota bZ4X? Then you get the most from an 11 kW charger on a three phase connection. The Proace Verso charges at 7.4 kW on one phase as standard, or at 11 kW if your car has the optional three phase charger. For the plug-in hybrids, the Prius and the RAV4, any home charger is more than enough, because these models charge on one phase at 3.3 to 6.6 kW.
Choose a charger with a MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records your charging exactly. You need those certified readings whenever you have to prove your charging to someone else, an employer, a lease company, a landlord or an owners' association, because without them each of those settlements is only an estimate. In the Netherlands there is an extra reason: from 2026 private drivers can earn back up to 500 euros a year through their energy supplier, but only with a certified meter, and that scheme applies in the Netherlands only. In our view a MID meter is no longer a luxury. Our EV chargers with a MID meter show which models qualify.
Browse all 11 kW EV chargers or 22 kW EV chargers in our range. Not sure which charger suits your situation? We recommend having the connection made by a qualified electrician, which is safer and important for your insurance; Wallbox Discounter arranges installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany.

Frequently asked questions about Toyota EV chargers
What charging power does my Toyota have?
That depends on your model. The fully electric Toyota bZ4X charges at 11 kW on three phase. The Proace Verso charges at 7.4 kW on one phase as standard, or 11 kW with the optional three phase charger. The plug-in hybrids charge on one phase: the RAV4 at 6.6 kW and the Prius models at 3.3 kW. You will find the exact charging power and the matching charging time on the model page.
Why does a MID meter matter for my Toyota charger?
A MID meter is a certified kWh meter that records your charging officially. From 2026, in the Netherlands, private drivers can earn back up to 500 euros a year on home charging through their energy supplier, but only with a MID meter, and that scheme applies in the Netherlands only. For business drivers a MID meter is also what makes a charging invoice to an employer or lease company hold up. Almost every charger we recommend has one as standard.
