The car sets the ceiling, and the charger decides whether you reach it. If your home has a single phase supply, you reach that maximum anyway.

One consequence is easy to miss, and it costs you speed rather than money. A three phase 11 kW charger supplies 16 A per phase, and a single phase car uses just one of those phases. Your Ariya would then charge at 3.7 kW, so half of what it can manage. A single phase 7.4 kW charger gives it the full 32 A.

A 22 kW charger supplies 32 A per phase, so it also delivers the full 7.4 kW. It costs more without charging this car any faster. If your Ariya has the optional 22 kW on-board charger, it uses all three phases and the question does not arise.

The practical conclusion: choose on features and on your connection, not on peak power. Does your fuse box have little to spare, because of a heat pump or an induction hob?
