A Besen charging station is the most competitively priced choice in our range: a reliable wallbox from our sharpest price category, built in Besen’s own factory in Nanjing with a production capacity of 2,000 charging stations per day. Besen has been supplying EV chargers to the European and American markets since 2012 and has proven that safe and affordable charging can go hand in hand. For anyone looking for a home wallbox without the added cost of premium brands, this is the entry-level segment at Wallbox Discounter. You decide whether to order the charger separately or directly including installation by a certified installer.

Who is Besen and why do many drivers choose this brand?

Besen International Group started in 2009 with charging cables and connectors and began producing its first EV chargers in 2012. The brand has now been active in charging technology for more than 14 years and produces in Nanjing with over 300 employees. Its strategic advantage lies in scale: by manufacturing everything in-house, Besen can offer prices that many other brands cannot match, without compromising on CE and TÜV certification.

Wallbox Discounter is an official supplier for the European market and has direct contact with the technical department in China. This reduces the number of intermediaries and means shorter communication lines for warranty and advice. The Besen models you see here are the versions that have been tested and approved for Europe, supplied with a Dutch manual.

The Besen range at a glance

On this page, you will find the complete range of Besen charging stations, from simple 3.7 kW entry-level models to fast 22 kW versions for those who want to make full use of a three-phase connection. The choice between a socket and a fixed cable depends on your preference: a socket model accepts any Type 2 charging cable, while a charging station with a fixed cable is faster to use.

Who is a Besen charging station suitable for?

Besen is suitable for drivers who are looking for a reliable charging station without paying extra for premium software. You get CE- and TÜV-certified charging, an IP66 rating against weather and dirt, and on various models plug & charge, RFID locking and manual or dynamic load balancing. What you do not get: extensive energy management software, system-level integration with solar panels or advanced apps such as those from Alfen or Zaptec. ISO 15118 with Plug & Charge is also not available on the current Besen models. If you want your car to be recognised automatically without a charging card or app, look at brands such as Easee Charge Pro, Zaptec or Wallbox.

Besen is a good fit if you:

  • want to charge at home at a sharp price and do not need complete energy integration;
  • are looking for a second charging station for a guest parking space or company van;
  • mainly charge at night and do not need to micromanage when the car receives power;
  • prefer to invest in a MID meter solution from another brand: in that case, view our charging stations with MID meter.

ERE scheme and MID meter: what does this mean for Besen?

From 2026, you can earn money in the Netherlands for every kWh you charge at home into your car through the ERE scheme. The Dutch Senate approved the scheme on 31 March 2026; credits apply retroactively from 1 January 2026. The current compensation is approximately €0.07 to €0.14 per kWh, which can amount to €200 to €700 per year depending on your consumption.

Important: this ERE compensation applies only in the Netherlands. It is not applicable in other countries. The requirement is that your charging station must have a MID meter (Measuring Instruments Directive) to officially measure which electricity is charged into the car. The current Besen models in this range do not have a MID meter as standard. Do you want to use ERE credits in the Netherlands? Then view our charging stations with MID meter for home use from Alfen, Easee, Smappee or Zaptec.

Subsidy for a Besen charging station

For private individuals, there is no national Dutch subsidy for a home charging station in 2026. Some municipalities have their own schemes for residents without a private parking space, so check with your municipality before making a decision.

For companies and apartment associations, the Dutch SPRILA 2026 scheme (Subsidy Scheme for Private Charging Infrastructure at Companies) is relevant. This scheme runs from 20 January to 18 December 2026 with a total budget of €87.5 million, divided between charging infrastructure (€60 million), battery storage (€18.5 million) and projects for public transport and coaches (€9 million). The cap per applicant has been removed, so larger projects are also possible. Please note: AC charging stations must provide at least 11 kW to qualify, which excludes the 3.7 and 7.4 kW Besen models. The 11 kW and 22 kW versions do qualify.

Installation of a Besen charging station

The installation of a Besen charging station should be carried out by a certified electrician. A 3.7 kW model can often be connected to an existing single-phase circuit, but for 11 or 22 kW you need a separate three-phase circuit from the electrical cabinet. The installation itself consists of four steps: drilling holes and placing screws, mounting the back plate to the wall, hanging the charging station and attaching the socket, and finally connecting the wiring to a separate residual-current circuit breaker.

We provide a Dutch manual with every Besen charging station. Would you rather arrange the complete installation? Then view our page charging station including installation for a quotation based on your situation.

Frequently asked questions about Besen charging stations

How long does a Besen charging station last?

Besen charging stations are CE- and TÜV-certified and built with an IP66 rating, making them resistant to rain, dust and changing temperatures. With normal home use, a wallbox usually lasts ten to fifteen years, provided it has been installed correctly.

Which app belongs to a Besen charging station?

Besen models with app functionality work with the EVSE Master app. This allows you to view charging history and manually adjust charging power to prevent overload. Not every Besen model has app control, so check the product page to see which features are included.

Does a Besen charging station have RFID?

Most Besen models are available with RFID authorisation as an option. This means a charging session only starts after scanning a charging card, which is useful when the station is installed in a shared or business location.

Can I connect my Besen charging station to solar panels?

Standard Besen models do not automatically respond to solar surplus. Do you want to charge using self-generated electricity? Then look at the Pro version with dynamic load balancing, or view our charging stations with solar panel integration from brands such as myenergi.

Not sure which Besen suits you best?

An 11 kW Besen charging station is the ideal middle ground for most households: fast enough to fully charge an average EV battery in four to six hours, and suitable for any standard three-phase connection. If you only have single-phase, a 7.4 kW model with app is the smarter choice. Not sure? Call or WhatsApp us, and we will help you determine which version suits your electrical cabinet. Order today before 15:00 and your Besen will leave our warehouse in the Netherlands today.
