Citroen e-SpaceTourer 75 kWh EV charger: which one fits best?

The Citroen e-SpaceTourer 75 kWh charges at home through a Type 2 connection. How fast depends on the on-board charger fitted to your van. Citroen delivers this model with two different chargers as standard, and which one you got depends on the country of sale. Does your van have the single-phase 7.4 kW on-board charger? Then pick from our 7.4 kW EV chargers instead. This is worth checking before you order. A three-phase 11 kW charger delivers 16 A per phase, and a single-phase van takes only one of those phases. Your van would then charge at 3.7 kW rather than 7.4 kW, which doubles the time. A 7.4 kW charger uses one phase at 32 A and gives that van its full speed.

Which EV charger fits the Citroen e-SpaceTourer 75 kWh?

Two more features matter for a van with a 69 kWh useable battery. A full charge runs for about seven and a half hours at best. During a session that long, EV chargers with dynamic load balancing earn their place. The charger measures the current still free in your fuse box, then lowers the charging power when the house needs it. An overnight session that long also rewards planning, which is what EV chargers with an app are for.

Then there is the MID meter, a certified kWh meter that records what you charge at home. Almost every charger we recommend has one built in. It first tells you what home charging actually costs you, which matters with a battery this size. In the Netherlands private drivers can claim up to 500 euros a year from 2026 through their energy supplier, and that scheme applies from 2026 in the Netherlands only. How long does the Citroen e-SpaceTourer 75 kWh take to charge?

Work from the useable battery of 69 kWh. On an 11 kW charger, empty to full takes about 7.5 hours including charging losses. With the single-phase 7.4 kW charger that becomes roughly 11 hours. Plug the van in during the evening and it is ready in the morning either way.

On the road a rapid charger takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in around 40 minutes at up to 100 kW. The e-SpaceTourer uses a Type 2 connection at home, so you charge through the charger's own cable. A separate Type 2 charging cable is only needed for charging away from home.

Does the e-SpaceTourer 75 kWh need a three-phase connection?

Only if your van has the 11 kW three-phase on-board charger. That version reaches its full speed on three phases. The single-phase 7.4 kW version does not benefit from three phases at all. Check your specification before you choose a charger.

Which charger is faster for my van, 7.4 kW or 11 kW?

That depends on the on-board charger. With the three-phase version an 11 kW charger is clearly faster. With the single-phase version an 11 kW charger actually drops you to 3.7 kW, while a 7.4 kW charger gives the full 7.4 kW.

Do I need a charger with a MID meter?

In our view, yes. A MID certified kWh meter shows exactly what home charging costs you. With a battery this large that adds up quickly. The same reading lets you settle charging costs with an employer or lease company. A charger without one rules that out.
