Dacia Spring Electric 65 Extreme EV charger: which one fits best?
The Dacia Spring Electric 65 Extreme charges at home through a Type 2 connector, at 6.6 kW at most. It draws all of that from a single phase, so from one of the wires that come into your meter box. That is the fact your whole choice hangs on. A three-phase charger does not make this car faster here. It makes it slower. Those chargers run on one phase at 32 A, so the Spring takes its full 6.6 kW. On a three-phase 11 kW charger it uses only one of the three phases, which caps it at 3.7 kW. A full charge then takes about eight hours instead of four and a half. The heavier charger is the slower one, which is the opposite of what most people expect.

Which charger suits the Dacia Spring Electric 65 Extreme?
You want a charger you connect on one phase. That keeps the full 6.6 kW, and it is the cheaper route as well. You skip three-phase wiring you would never use. Our 7.4 kW EV chargers are built exactly for that.
One thing to know before you order. A certified MID meter records your charging separately from the rest of your household use. At this power our range does not have one. Chargers with a MID meter start at 11 kW and are three-phase throughout. For this car that would mean trading a good part of your charging speed for the meter, so weigh it honestly.
An EV charger with an app does pay off. It lets you schedule charging for your off-peak hours. With a battery this small you rarely need to charge every day. A solar EV charger takes that further and charges on the surplus from your own panels. The Spring uses a Type 2 connection, so at home you charge through the EV charger itself. A separate Type 2 charging cable is only needed if you want to charge at a public point as well.
How long does the Dacia Spring Electric 65 Extreme take to charge?
The plain sum is the usable battery of 25 kWh divided by the charging power. At 6.6 kW that gives just under four hours. In practice you should count on about four and a half. Charging always loses some energy along the way. Plug it in for the evening and it is ready long before morning.
On a three-phase 11 kW charger the Spring drops to 3.7 kW and needs roughly eight hours instead. A single-phase connection at 6.6 kW is therefore the better match for this car, and the cheaper one.

No, and a three-phase one would work against you. The Spring charges on one phase only, at 6.6 kW at most. On an 11 kW three-phase charger it falls back to 3.7 kW. A charger you connect on one phase is the best and cheapest choice here.

Do I need an electrician to connect the charger?
We always advise having the connection done by a qualified electrician. That is safer and it matters for your insurance. We arrange installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany, and in Germany that runs through a free quotation. Outside those three countries you arrange the connection yourself.
